Chapter thirty-four: Welcome back students

Standing in the and reminiscing of the past,t Lucien snapped out of his reverie and looked at the approaching vice-principal who came to address those who made it to Tier 2, There was a time limit of two years, and every 6 months those who had returned then or earlier would come to the hall for a mandatory congratulations, being part of the first batch Lucien couldn't help but look around for Janet and Jacob. Although Jacob was already Tier 3 a tier above them, he still joined as his secret was known to few and not many so to keep a low profile he joined.
Of course, the legacy students A.K.A Lyla and Zakiel set didn't need to join in such test as, one they weren't from this school, and two, he was pretty sure all of them were way above Tier 2 even the weakest was at least Tier 3.
When he glanced around once more to see if they were here he spotted those whose names had been called for who made the most progress in the Tier 1 promotion but no Janet 'guessed she couldn't do as fast, maybe she would in the next batch' with those thoughts gone Lucien focused back on the Vice-Principal.
"Welcome back Students, as you are the first batch to return, and since most of you don't know that provides you with special benefits, you get more resources from Tier 0. To advance to each level of Tier 0 and 1 you need to kill monsters of the same tier or higher and their soul's essence automatically gets absorbed by you I'm sure you all know that unless you don't pay attention during lessons" for some reason Lucien got offended when she said that because he wasn't always one who listened in class, the vice-principal continued " The higher the Tier the better the soul essence the faster your advancement will be, so as the first batch who not only pass but worked hard and did it days before the first 6 months you will be given bonafide crystals from tier 4 creatures and tier 3."
Everyone in the hall was shocked that simply getting back early to school would give them such huge rewards Excitement lit in everyone's eyes except Lucien, On his first week he fought a tier 3 and he didn't get a core but he knew this when others hunters got that, he just accounted it to the system.
The Vice-principal gave the student body the stones to give the students, each one was given two Tier 4 stones and three Tier 3 stones, it was very surprising that the school could afford such resources as there were up to 100 students here, with how much the amount that was given at such a large scale Lucien realized how truly well off the academy was. Lucien wasn't too surprised at this so seeing this prompt he did nothing and stored it in his inventory which was almost filled with all types of ores and herbs he planned to sell to the school, he didn't need them as they were useless to him but he was sure the blacksmith club and Alchemist club will like them and it was a good apology token for being horrible at what he does. He considered joining the blacksmith club because of his new body that seemed tethered to the crafts but decided against it as he was too lazy to even do it.
Unbeknownst to him two gods loudly cursed Lucien to his 7th generation for throwing such a treasured body that even the god of dwarves on the 5th realm coveted.
When the assembly was over in the hall everyone was left to their own devices as the only people who were in the school were the 100 people who had finished their test first and were rewarded and the senior students who weren't usually in the school.
so getting up to go to his room Lucien sat down on his bed and absorbed both the Tier 4 crystals but ultimately left the Tier 3 for Janet when she came back.
looking at his progress and strength made Lucien smile with glee at how far he had come from being the talentless handsome kid to an even more handsome man, oh yeah, and also powerful, charming, and strong. As Lucien continued to feel his head with Narcissistic thoughts a knock was heard on the door.
Walking up to it consciously he stood by the door and peered through the hole and didn't see anyone, Pertified by this he opened the door and saw a small box on the floor with a letter on top of it. Opening the letter he saw just a few words written on it " A little help for revenge". Confused as to what this was he turned the letter to the back and the word written there nearly up him into shock it read "67". Quickly picking up the box and entering the room,Lucien sat there for several minutes as he just stared at the open box, this same box full of mystery but lucien was a little bit certain of what laid in it.
He continued to stare at it not noticing that someone had entered the room from the shadows, "Whats with the box" lucien had a jump as the sudden appearance of a beautiful black haired young girl with flawless skin and abyssal black eyes staring at him, her short stature and cute face belied the terrifying strength that laid underneath her porcelain doll-like face. Lyla jump scared Lucien with sudden appearance "You didn't tell me you were back" Lucien gaze turned slightly indifferent when looking at his sister like he was looking at a stranger " How did you find me" he asked her "I sensed you entering the school" she said casually as if it was nothing, Lucien just looked at blatantly but truly he was cursing her in his mind 'who the fuck says I sensed your presence that's just creepy and wrong and your fucking twelve dammit '.
"So the box" placing his attention back on the box, he contemplated whether to tell his sister or not, considering this involved their mother he decided to tell her but he first asked, "You said that the people who did this are dangerous, how did you know?" looking at his sister directly in the eye he said those words and the reply he received was somewhat complexing and annoying "I didn't I just felt the darkness around her " not sensing any waver that suggested lying in her tone and eyes he decided to believe, this time.
" So the box?" she impatiently asked " I think this box has the names of the 67 living beings that did this to Mum and worsened her condition" , Lyla's lightless eyes suddenly widened and immediately she reached out to the box with impatience. Lucien couldn't do anything as he didn't even see her move before the box was in her hands, " Even with all that power she is still an impatient little brat that cares for her mother" shaking his head with a slight smile on his face he stared at his sister who was frozen with a shocked look on her face and an open box in her hands. "Whats wrong," Lucien asked with worry as he looked at his sister. murmuring her words lucien barely heard her as she said "T-t-this is impossible".
