The Duke Residence was relatively close to the Imperial City, just next to the Prince Residence. The Emperor didn't want to attract too much attention and opted not to use the main entrance; instead, he took a detour and appeared at the back door.
Looking at the closed back door, the Emperor didn't even need to instruct anyone, as the Hidden Guards already protecting him in secret had climbed over the wall to open the door.
After the door was opened, the Emperor walked in with Eunuch An.
