Ten days, depending on how you look at it, can feel long or short. But if it's just for getting used to one's powers, then it's more than enough. At the very least, during these ten days, Fang Li and Sylvia didn't spend all their time holed up in the training grounds.
From time to time, they strolled around the various regions of the Main God's Dimension together.
Sometimes, they even went on casual dates.
And occasionally… well, let's just say things got a bit more intimate…
'Cough cough, let's not get sidetracked.'
In short, within the Main God's Dimension, a place filled with wonders and marvels even more fantastical than any seen in the dungeon worlds, someone like Sylvia, who loved excitement and freedom, was never going to miss the chance to explore.
Every day, she dragged Fang Li all over the place, and for the first time in ages, he actually took the time to enjoy the Main God's Dimension.
After all, when he was alone, Fang Li had always been a bit of a loner. He never really got close to any of the other Divine Envoys, preferring to go solo. In the Main God's Dimension, he was always either training hard or challenging the Tower of Trials. He had never taken the time to relax or have fun.
Take the entertainment district, for example. It was designed specifically to let the Divine Envoys unwind and have fun. It cost Exchange Points, sure, but it was the perfect place to rest both body and mind.
Yet Fang Li had never once set foot in those facilities until Sylvia arrived. Only then did he finally experience the fun they had to offer.
Of course, all those facilities required Exchange Points to access.
In the past, Fang Li would've thought something like this: "Instead of wasting Exchange Points like this, I'd rather use them to get stronger."
Back when it was just him, he would've seen it as a waste.
But when it was for Sylvia? Then it was absolutely worth it.
So, besides the 10,000 Exchange Points spent renting the training ground, Fang Li and Sylvia spent another 20,000 Exchange Points playing in the entertainment district.
Still, with more than 360,000 Exchange Points in his account, even after losing 30,000, Fang Li still had 330,000 left. Nothing to stress about.
As for equipment and skills, Sylvia really seemed dead set on not equipping anything until she reached her third rank.
So Fang Li remembered the reward he received from completing the hidden quest in his previous dungeon world:
Small Magical Ring
Category: Accessory
Rank: Fourth Rank
Effect: Reduces stamina and ability consumption to a certain extent.
For someone like Sylvia, who excelled in close combat and had a powerful omnipotent ability that consumed a lot of prana, this item could be incredibly useful.
So, Fang Li gave her the Small Magical Ring, along with Light Breath, which could reduce damage by half, and Explorer's Wish, which granted immunity to half of all abnormal status effects.
With Fang Li's current speed and agility, it was rare for him to get seriously injured anymore. Compared to himself, Sylvia had much more use for the protection offered by Light Breath.
And as for abnormal statuses, Fang Li could rely on the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception to kill them off anyway, ignoring most effects outright. Giving Explorer's Wish to Sylvia would have a far greater benefit.
With that, Sylvia was finally equipped with gear. Combined with her full mastery over her current power, if Fang Li refrained from using his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception in a duel, then winning three out of ten matches against her would already be a very good result.
From this, it was clear just how fast Sylvia had improved, her progress could only be described as a transformation.
So, once the ten days were over, Fang Li immediately applied for his Promotion Quest.
"Serial Number 11273 applying for Promotion Quest."
"Application conditions met. Promotion Quest officially accepted."
"Serial Number 11273 has triggered the Promotion Quest: Third Rank."
"Promotion Quest 1: Achieve three dungeon clear evaluations of EX-Rank or higher. Quest is complete once achievements are confirmed."
"Promotion Quest 2: Clear the 45th Floor of the Trial Tower. Quest is complete upon reaching the floor."
"Promotion Quest 3: Enter the next Dungeon World with quest difficulty increased by one rank. Complete all Main Quests to pass."
It had been mentioned before that Promotion Quests in the Main God's Dimension follow three defining characteristics:
One quest will evaluate the Divine Envoy's past dungeon performances, specifically requiring certain clear-rank achievements.
One quest will require the Divine Envoy to complete a Dungeon World with increased quest difficulty.
The Dungeon World for the Promotion Quest will be solo-only, no teammates are allowed, and the number of participants will be strictly one.
Therefore, under normal circumstances, Fang Li and Sylvia shouldn't be able to do the Promotion Quest together.
But every rule has its exception.
In this case, the exception lies in the Divine Envoy having a Servant.
Since a Divine Envoy and their Servant share a life bond, if both the Envoy and the Servant are at the same Rank and have reached the Rank limit, they can apply for the Promotion Quest together, and both will undergo the exact same Promotion Quest.
In this scenario, the difficulty of the Promotion Quest will increase accordingly.
For instance, Promotion Quest 1, because it's based on previous achievements, can technically be completed instantly if those achievements have already been earned.
However, reaching an S-Rank dungeon clear evaluation is already rare; achieving an EX-Rank is practically unheard of.
And now, this Promotion Quest requires three EX-Rank evaluations.
Clearly, this is the result of the increased difficulty due to team participation.
Similarly, Promotion Quest 2 requires clearing the 45th Floor of the Trial Tower.
That's typically a feat only achievable by Third-Rank Divine Envoys.
The limit for most Fourth-Rank Divine Envoys is the 40th Floor. Only those with top-tier Class, Titles, Equipment, and Skills can hope to surpass that and go further.
For the average Fourth-Rank, even with buffs from Class, Title, Equipment, and Skills, getting past the 40th Floor is extremely difficult, let alone the 45th.
But if this is a two-person Promotion Quest, then it becomes reasonable.
As a result, once the Promotion Quest is completed, both the Divine Envoy and their Servant will level up.
And with that, Fang Li and Sylvia officially began their new Dungeon World journey.
Dungeon World: A Certain Magical Index
Quest Difficulty: Third Rank
Number of Participants: 2
Number of Main Quests: 3
Main Quest 1: Travel the world and extract the energy from ten Ley Lines or Dragon Veins. Additional rewards will be granted based on the number extracted.
Main Quest 2: Obtain the original versions of ten Magical Path books. Extra copies will result in bonus rewards.
Main Quest 3: Earn 50,000 Exchange Points. Additional points earned beyond the requirement will yield additional rewards.
Failure Penalty: Failing any of the Main Quests will result in a deduction of 10,000 Exchange Points per failed quest.
Completion Reward: Rewards will be calculated based on the final evaluation.
