Chapter 820 - Surpassing the Perfect, Shimmering Diamond

"So beautiful." As Lilian immersed herself in the beauty of the diamond, the woman nearly forgot to continue her commentary. The intricate, symmetrical structure made this diamond formed by magic mirrors dazzling and brilliant without losing its depth, almost fully expressing the beauty of light and form to the utmost.

As the gazes of most of the women in the venue converged, their eyes were unanimously drawn to the diamond, fixing themselves on the Carbink within it!

"So that's how it is…"

Nurse Joy from Saffron City, who was responsible for the overall judging, noticed that the entire audience's attention had been drawn there and immediately revealed a shocked expression.

"He used the guidance of light to keep the audience's eyes from leaving this diamond… and most importantly, the diamond's special structure complements the Carbink inside it. As a result, anyone who looks at the diamond is instantly drawn to the Carbink within…"

The giant, shimmering diamond perfectly supported Carbink, enhancing Carbink's originally unremarkable appearance until it bloomed with a dazzling, intoxicating brilliance. If other perfect-score contestants merely brought their moves and Pokémon performances to an almost flawless level, then…

The pairing of the diamond and Carbink, with its uniquely ingenious and clever conception, elevated Carbink's charm infinitely—surpassing perfection, surpassing the limit.

Carbink, embedded within the diamond, shimmered with an eternal allure of light and shadow that stirred the heart. Not only women, but even men were unwittingly drawn into it.

"H-Heavens… it's just too beautiful. I couldn't help but forget to comment. Everyone, please look, the rotating light of the diamond displays a dynamic perfection. Within it, Carbink not only isn't overshadowed by the diamond's brilliance, but instead uses the diamond's light to show itself even better, letting us witness a Pokémon's charm in full bloom. This performance is truly astonishing. It's just a pity, if only I could take this diamond home with me." Lilian said regretfully, voicing everyone's thoughts.

How they all wanted to take that diamond, along with the Carbink inside it, home and admire it to their heart's content.

"Exactly. The abstract, artistic form of Magic Coat, the deliberately constructed smooth and natural lines, and the gracefully flowing light all fully express the beauty of a diamond. Magic Coat and Carbink represent the transformation between illusion and reality; each is indispensable to the other. I truly hope they can stay together for a lifetime. The performance by Contestant Terrance and Carbink made me feel as though I am witnessing love." Vivian said dreamily, her gaze unconsciously shifting from the first arena to the second as she joined Lilian in commentary.

The professional commentary from the two of them completely ignited the atmosphere of the venue. Countless women cheered wildly for Carbink, while at the same time, Terrance stood to the side with a smile, looking at the unanimous scores of 100 given by the three Nurse Joys.

The performance ended!

Terrance slowly bowed to the audience, expressing his gratitude.

This perfect score was more convincing to the audience than any previous perfect score!

"This kid… he really does love the spotlight. Still, his progress has indeed been tremendous," Raoul Contesta chuckled inwardly. He still remembered the Pokémon Contest Terrance participated in when he first debuted four years ago. Terrance's performances back then were in this same style. He loved the spotlight, but at the time, they lacked something. He focused too much on the charm of the moves and neglected the Pokémon's own charm.

However, even though the charm of the moves tended to overshadow the Pokémon themselves, no one did it better than Terrance back then, making him the undisputed number one. From Raoul Contesta's judging perspective, Terrance at that time could be considered a genius rookie, but he was still far from a contest master like Wallace.

However, now that gap no longer existed. With just a single move, Terrance had displayed a scene no less impressive than those previously composed of multiple moves. And this time, although the shimmering diamond was eye-catching, it did not steal the spotlight. Instead, it served perfectly as an adornment that set off Carbink.

As the core of the diamond, Carbink, aided by the flawless light and structure, completely became the focus of the entire venue. No one could tear their eyes away from it. It could be said that the moment the audience fixed their gaze on Carbink and discovered its charm, the performance had already reached absolute perfection.

A truly master-level performance!

"So this is Senior Terrance's true strength…" Hoenn's popular idol Lisia pressed her lips together, her emotions mixed.

"Looks like I'm still far from that level," Chisana shook her head quietly on the other side. Her earlier thought of using this festival to shock Terrance with her skills had completely vanished.

Marina, Chaz, Daisy Oak, Solidad, Yuma. These contestants, who were hailed as top championship contenders, all fell silent.

Of course, expecting a single preliminary round's performance to crush the confidence of Coordinators who were either genius rookies or seasoned veterans was beyond Terrance's skills, and their hearts were not so fragile either. After expressing their admiration and shock, these contestants only became more serious.

After Terrance left the stage, Chisana, Sora, and several lesser-known veteran coordinators also achieved perfect scores one after another.

This could be said to be the preliminary round with the most perfect scores since the Pokémon Contest introduced the preliminary round rule.

Unfortunately, the performances of those who followed, even with perfect scores, no longer delivered the same level of shock as Terrance's. Performing after him could only be described as extremely unlucky.

In the contestant lounge, Terrance once again focused his gaze intently on the screen.

"That Lisia, did she send out Altaria?"

At the very end of the preliminary round, Terrance saw Lisia's Appeal Round. The Pokémon she sent out was one that genuinely surprised him: Altaria.

After careful observation, Terrance noticed that Altaria was wearing a special stone, which he inferred was Altaria's Mega Stone.

"Her trump card is actually Mega Altaria…"

Terrance stared at the screen, his eyes gleaming. He had not expected that Wallace's niece would be a Coordinator who had mastered Mega Altaria.

This information was, without a doubt, extremely interesting.

Aside from himself, the only trainers Terrance knew who used Altaria as their ace Pokémon were the two Gym Leaders of Fortree Gym… and now, it seemed, there was one more.

"Interesting…" If Lisia had previously only sparked a slight sense of anticipation in Terrance, now he was truly looking forward to facing her in battle, to properly teach this rookie.

Trainers capable of possessing Mega Altaria likely numbered no more than a handful in the entire world.

"Carbink's control over Magic Bounce is already near perfect. As long as it can replicate its on-stage performance, it's more than qualified to serve as the core diamond of Ice Moon. This time… it should be able to undergo a mutation into Diancie, right?" Terrance had not forgotten his plan. He believed that once Diancie was born, it would surely shine even more brilliantly than Wallace's Milotic.
