Chapter 774 - Ice Moon's Limit

The next day.

Before departing, Terrance first headed to Mt. Chimney.

Altaria had flown there yesterday and still hadn't returned. Terrance knew it had gone to visit its mother.

This morning, after communicating with Altaria through the Fairy Mark, Terrance told it not to rush back, since he was planning to go there as well.

After making a few preparations, Terrance set off toward the summit of Mt. Chimney with sixteen Cutiefly.

It wasn't anything major; Terrance simply planned to conduct an experiment at the summit of Mt. Chimney, to test the limits of the "Ice Moon."

The special Ice Moon, created by Ninetales using the Snow Warning Ability, Extrasensory, and the Snowy Weather secret technique, possessed the ability to absorb and reflect light.

This ability could assist Ninetales in using five moves—Aurora Beam, Ice Beam, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, and Aurora Veil—making it extremely valuable in actual battles.

Of course, the Ice Moon was just a particular form, primarily developed to enhance the power of the Moonblast move.

If Ninetales wanted, it could also form Ice Mirrors to reflect light-type moves.

However, in group battles, the Ice Moon form was more suitable as a carrier.

The special Ice Moon created by Ninetales, combined with Mega Altaria's Fairy Aura, could effectively strengthen the Ice Moon's abilities and modulate Fairy energy, allowing the Ice Moon to absorb Dazzling Gleam and Moonblast moves from different Pokémon.

At present, what Terrance wanted to test was the limits of what Ice Moon could withstand.

In other words, he wanted to find out just how much Fairy energy Ninetales's Ice Moon could contain.

That was why Terrance brought all sixteen Cutiefly along.

"Stay close to me," Terrance said to the group of Cutiefly as they climbed Mt. Chimney.

Tap!!

Tap!!

Walking over gravel and along the rugged mountain path, Terrance chuckled. Such a "dangerous" mountain path was already child's play for him to climb.

After leading the Cutiefly for a while, Terrance reached a mountaintop where a faint mist had already begun to appear. The mist wasn't thick, so it didn't obscure the view for humans or Pokémon.

Upon reaching the summit, Terrance deliberately slowed down a bit and called out to Altaria in his mind. After a moment, a gentle cry sounded from deep within the mist.

"Altaria!"

Terrance called out, and Altaria quickly flew over. When the Cutiefly saw Altaria, they immediately flocked to it, even more excited than when they saw Terrance.

If the Fairy Mark simply made the Cutiefly fond of and closer to Terrance,

Then Altaria's Fairy Aura was, for the Cutiefly, every bit as irresistible as a drug...

Seeing this, Terrance messily rubbed his hair. With no better option, he obediently took out the Poké Balls at his waist and released Carbink, Kirlia, and Ninetales.

Together with Altaria and the sixteen Cutiefly, there were a total of twenty Fairy-type Pokémon.

After quickly communicating with these Pokémon and explaining the precautions to follow afterward in detail, Terrance also called out the Rotom Pokédex, which immediately flew out of his backpack, rubbing its hands together, clearly eager and ready for a big event.

To calculate the limits of the Ice Moon, Terrance still had to rely on the computational power of the Rotom Pokédex.

You could say that Rotom Pokédex had already been modified by Terrance into a miniature computer, and its functions were extremely powerful!

After finding a suitable location, Terrance and the Pokémon were ready, but at that moment, another figure flew over from the depths of Mt. Chimney.

Upon seeing this figure, Terrance glanced at Altaria. It was indeed the Totem Altaria of Mt. Chimney, Altaria's mother. Terrance didn't pay it much mind.

"Good morning, Altaria. Would you like to watch a special performance in a moment?"

After shouting a greeting to the Mt. Chimney Altaria, Terrance extended his invitation and explained what was about to happen. To his surprise, Altaria's mother seemed very interested and even wanted to join in and give it a try itself.

With a slight smile, Terrance nodded and had its child explain the precautions in detail.

"With Altaria's mother added in, that makes 21 Pokémon capable of using Fairy-type moves..." Terrance thought to himself. That was just fine.

After giving one more round of instructions, Terrance looked at the Pokémon and finally spoke.

"Let's begin."

At Terrance's command, Ninetales's deep blue eyes began to shine, and a chill swept through the air.

In the sky, snowflakes slowly began to drift down. Then, following the shifting air currents, the ice and snow gathered together in the air, condensing into a mass. Amidst the swirling snow and ice, the giant Ice Moon quickly began to take shape.

Next, Ninetales used Extrasensory to sculpt the giant Ice Moon. Almost instantly, the Ice Moon began to emit a crystal-clear glow, dazzlingly bright.

"Now's the time." Seizing the right moment, Terrance reminded the Pokémon and Rotom Pokédex. In the next instant, Altaria, already having completed the self-Mega Evolution, was the first to act. Enhanced by Fairy Aura, it unleashed Moonblast and Dazzling Gleam. Immediately, the brilliance of these moves was swallowed up by the Ice Moon.

After that, Kirlia, Carbink, Ninetales, and the Mt. Chimney Altaria each used Moonblast and Dazzling Gleam, pouring all their fairy brilliance into the giant Ice Moon.

Very quickly, because it was absorbing the Fairy energy of so many Pokémon, the Ice Moon began to look even more otherworldly. However, through Ninetales's senses, Terrance could clearly tell that the Ice Moon had not yet reached its limit.

Gazing up at the Ice Moon in the sky, Terrance's eyes flashed as he called for the Cutiefly. These tiny Pokémon each used Dazzling Gleam in turn. Although their individual strength was still weak, with the boost from Fairy Aura, every Dazzling Gleam carried considerable power.

Though the Cutiefly were weak, the boost from Fairy Aura made the effect even more noticeable. One after another, all sixteen Cutiefly unleashed Dazzling Gleam. At the same time, the giant Ice Moon began to undergo even more astonishing changes.

The originally silver, ice moon was now gradually tinged with a rich pink color—the hue of Fairy energy.

"A blood moon?" Terrance shook his head. This was clearly not a natural phenomenon of the moon, but a result of the Ice Moon containing too much Fairy energy. Although the Ice Moon was an excellent carrier for Fairy energy, as the Fairy energy increased sharply, the Ice Moon was on the verge of being dominated by it.

You could say that, if this continued, the Ice Moon would become a "Fairy Moon," ready to explode at any moment.

At this point, the Ice Moon contained a terrifying amount of power. Whether this would be released in the form of a dispersed Fairy Light, or as a single destructive attack, would depend on how Altaria and Ninetales chose to use it next.
