Meanwhile, Giovanni, still locked in a standoff with Agatha, looked toward the helicopters in the sky that were wobbling and falling into chaos. His expression grew even darker.
"Didn't think the League would resort to underhanded tactics too. Who is it? Is it Lance?"
Seeing Giovanni's expression, Agatha let out a hearty laugh. "Looks like something you didn't account for just happened, Giovanni."
At this moment, Agatha was also deeply shocked. The Fairy Light had reflected from the giant ice moon and locked onto the helicopter, giving her a huge fright.
But what made Agatha laugh was the message coming through her earpiece: all hostages had been successfully rescued.

Those beams of light descending like divine punishment carried overwhelming power, yet their control was astonishingly precise. They caused no wide-scale damage to the helicopters, reaching an ingenious balance. This was all thanks to the Fairy Aura's calculations.
At this moment, Giovanni's emotions were extremely complicated as he glared furiously at the sky.
The next second, several of Giovanni's Pokémon combined their strength, gathering the power of earth to form a colossal mass of rock resembling Continental Crush. Like a meteor falling in reverse, it hurtled toward the giant ice moon high in the sky!!
Seeing this, Agatha frowned and was about to order her Pokémon to block it, but when she caught sight of the ice moon suddenly flashing with blinding light from the corner of her eye, she inexplicably stopped the command.

The moment the two moves collided, everyone on the island felt their pupils contract as they instinctively covered their ears. For a moment, their bodies froze.

As the island continued to collapse, Giovanni quickly regained his composure and began directing Team Rocket's retreat.
At that moment, neither Giovanni nor Agatha, neither Team Rocket nor the League, made any move to continue the battle. By now, everyone understood that unless a chance to reclaim the hostages appeared, the game was over. Escalating the conflict any further would only lead to mutual annihilation, an outcome neither leader, in their right mind, would allow.
Supported by Giovanni's ground army and Lorelei's ice/water army slowing the exhaustion of the island's energy core, both sides retreated swiftly.
"Boss Giovanni!!" A high-ranking executive looked at him in confusion, unable to understand why they were abandoning the elite specialists they had fought so hard to capture.
"Board the helicopter," Giovanni said calmly. He glanced back at the devastated Prison Island. "There's no helping it. Since it's come to this, minimizing Team Rocket casualties is the priority."
"We just have to start over."
After speaking, Giovanni cast another deep look toward the League's side, hoping to spot that mysterious Trainer again, but found nothing.
Shortly after Team Rocket and the League evacuated the island, the energy core of Prison Island, continuously battered by the power of ice/water and earth, finally exploded. The island was swallowed by the raging seawater pouring in from all sides. The remnant power of ice/water and earth only accelerated the island's destruction. When the last vestiges of its energy core were exhausted, the ecosystem collapsed so rapidly that a massive deep-sea whirlpool formed in its place.
The moment the whirlpool appeared, it churned the surrounding sea into chaos, and soon a storm formed as well. Merging with the whirlpool, it turned the entire region into a deadly forbidden zone.
The disaster caused by the collapse of Prison Island's energy core lasted a full week before finally subsiding.
