Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Training the 2 devil princesses and their peerage. Or is it mind control?

When I first assessed Rias and her strength, it was clear that her power level was low. I informed Venelana that I would train them for a few months. After some time, Rias's peerage joined us following lessons from Venelana about devils and the equivalence of high-class devils.

After a considerable amount of time had passed, Rias's peerage gathered, having received insightful teachings from Venelana. It was time for the official introduction.

Rias initiated the introductions, presenting me to her peerage, and vice versa.

"Everyone, I'd like you to meet Ren Nakamura. He is a highly esteemed guest who will be joining us to train alongside Sona's peerage."

Pointing towards the white-haired young man, she continued, "The white-haired boy here is Kiba Yūto, my loyal Knight. He possesses a Sacred Gear known as ."

Kiba, with an air of respect, greeted me, "Nice to meet you, Ren-sama," bowing politely.

"Observing your potential, it's evident that the only obstacles standing in your way are the remnants of your past and the lingering resentment within you," I addressed Kiba, causing him to flinch slightly, but he remained composed.

Rias proceeded to introduce the small girl, saying, "This is Tōjō Koneko, a Nekomata. She serves as my dependable Rook."

In an adorable manner, Koneko expressed her greetings, "Nice to meet you, Ren-onichan," her words carrying a hint of cuteness. I couldn't resist but lightly pat her head, acknowledging her presence.

"And lastly, we have Himejima Akeno, my Queen. Her strength ranks second only to mine within our peerage."

Akeno, bowing gracefully, conveyed her anticipation, "I eagerly look forward to training with you, Ren-sama."

Taking a moment to address the connection between the two peerages, I added, "You might recall Tsubaki Shinra, who serves as Sona's Queen. She is currently the sole member of Sona's peerage and possesses a Sacred Gear known as ."

Once the introductions were complete, we proceeded to a secluded training location, specifically chosen for our purposes.

"Based on my observations, it's apparent that most of Rias's peerage faces a common issue—a hindrance that prevents their growth once they reach a certain level," I explained, further elaborating on our goals. "We will work towards breaking through these limitations. However, today, our focus will be on pushing ourselves beyond our known boundaries, aiming to surpass the limitations of being Low-class devils."

At that moment, I retrieved a contract, a valuable tool that would prove beneficial in the future. Just as I was about to hand it over to Sona and Rias, Sera approached us, accompanied by Zechs.

"I see that you're also training my dear Ria-tan," Zechs remarked with gratitude. "I will extend my thanks to you later. But what is that document you're holding? A contract?" he inquired curiously.

Without a word, I handed the papers to Sera and Sirzechs, allowing them to peruse its contents and discover its purpose.

The contract read.

[Terms and bla bla bal. ....

….

Conditions:

1- Can't train other people on my way without permission.

2- Can study from a different teacher.

….

35- Can't stop halfway through.

36-Can't do evil

….

….

50- I'll let you be in the top 50 in the world by your 50 years old at most in the future if your results are good.….

… etc]

"This contract seems to hold potential for the future. Rias, Sona, go ahead and sign it. There's no need to scrutinize it extensively," Sirzechs remarked.

Sona and Rias glanced over the contents of the contract, each finding their own reasons to be pleased. Without hesitation, they happily affixed their signatures.

"For now, you should address me as Ren-sensei. Today, we'll examine your current limitations. Rias and Sona, come forward and face each other," I instructed, and they promptly complied.

"Now, Sona, create a water sphere as I taught you. Rias, utilize your power of Destruction to demolish the water sphere. Repeat this process until one of your Demonic powers is entirely depleted."

Sona skillfully conjured a rapidly expanding water sphere, causing Rias to instinctively step back. However, I employed on both of them, confining them within a fixed space. "Rias, you cannot move from your position. The only way to avoid being submerged in the water is to destroy it. Sona, to protect yourself from Rias's power of Destruction, create a water shield."

As soon as I imparted those instructions, their expressions grew serious. Rias utilized her power of Destruction to erode several layers of the water sphere created by Sona. Showing her quick thinking, Sona adjusted the rate of water removal and creation to ensure no harm came to either of them. Rias soon caught on to Sona's strategy and followed suit.

"Both of you have grasped the trick, but your Demonic powers are depleting too slowly. Accelerate the drain."

Consequently, they intensified their magical efforts. Eventually, Rias ran out of energy. Releasing her from the , I assumed her position and extinguished Sona's water sphere with a simple fire spell. The massive water sphere evaporated instantly, courtesy of my controlled application of heat magic, which was specifically designed not to harm my new students.

Soon, Sona's Demonic power was depleted as well. "Excellent. Now I have a clear understanding of your current limitations. Rias, there is much room for improvement in managing your power expenditure, as it seems disproportionate for a simple spell. And Sona, while your water manipulation skills are commendable, its resistance to temperature needs refinement."

"Um, Ren-sensei, that's because your magic is exceptionally potent. It's not a flaw in my own abilities," Sona spoke up, with Sera and Sirzechs nodding in agreement nearby.

"Ah, I see. Well, let's set that aside for now. However, the point I made remains crucial when facing greater threats," I acknowledged, and Sona nodded in acknowledgment.

"Now, onto the Queens and Knight. Tsubaki and Akeno, your task is similar but with a slight twist. Akeno launches a charged attack at Tsubaki, who will redirect it using her Sacred Gear, aiming it at Kiba instead. Kiba's objective is to dodge the incoming attack. The role of both Queens is to strike Kiba with lightning from Akeno, which is then redirected by Tsubaki."

They carried out the assigned tasks, and Kiba, despite getting struck a few times, grew fatigued quickly. I then summoned Sirzechs to take his place.

Once that exercise concluded, only Koneko-chan remained. "Koneko-chan, despite your young age and petite stature, your role as the Rook grants you considerable strength. Let's focus on enhancing your speed." Snapping my fingers, I tripled the effect of gravity on her, causing her to drop to her knees. "Your task is to run from here to Sera's location, which is 200 meters away."

It took her considerable effort and time to complete the task, as the tripled gravity posed a formidable challenge.

"Very well, now I have a clear direction."

And so, their training began. Little did they know that my focus extended beyond their physical training; I aimed to address their mental hurdles before the canon storyline even commenced, starting with Akeno.

Four months into the training, I decided to confront and resolve their psychological weaknesses.

"Akeno, why do you refuse to utilize your innate power of Light?" I questioned her directly.

"I don't want to accept it. I harbor resentment toward my father, who abandoned me and my mother when we needed him the most."

...

...

...

And one by one, I delved into their underlying issues, offering solutions and guidance. Now, Akeno effectively employs Holy Lightning, a potent tool against devils. Kiba has come to terms with Holy swords, and though he possesses some with vengeful intentions, he seeks justice. As for Koneko-chan, I revealed the truth about her sister and promised to reunite them when the time is right.
