The truth stood in plain sight before 1R and there was no way to defend themselves, the only thing they could do was to accept the outcome and what was to come with it. They were taken back to the hotel and their punishments would be given the following morning. They were supposed to enjoy the educational trip for two days but because of the situation it had to be cancelled.
Tyxin spent that night writing a long detailed essay like apology to the school board, his father, his family house, his classmates and to Mr. Hexon. He included every spec of dust in his writing leaving nothing out, even his he looked left to right. And with his letter there was also his self reflection written in. Everyone received the letter and almost no one read it.
Mr. Hexon opened his email and clicked on the document. Seeing the heading and that it was from Tyxin he scrolled over everything and realized it was too long to read. It looked like it had a two thousand word out, at the bottom of the letter the last sentence was ' I am deeply sorry' and that was all Hexon read before closing the document. His classmates also thought it was too long to read, they only read bits and pieces, while others didn't read anything.
His family house also did the same thing. His father also didn't read it and told a boy he looked little older than Tyxin to read it. The boy opened it scrolled to the bottom and told the father that Tyxin said he was sorry. Only the school board took the time to read Tyxin's letter.
The girls and the boys that weren't caught were sent home and for the ones who were caught had to stay for three days to carry out their punishments. Their punishments consisted of cleaning, following women around, sometimes being used as stools where the females would rest their legs on them, or to do whatever work was given; they were not allowed to complain. They had to bare with the harsh treatment, all except Quil.
Since he was the son of Trigan they didn't want to accidentally do something to create a feud. Even though they were aware he was an outcast and wasn't acknowledged as part of the family, but either way he had the blood of a Trigan running through his veins and sometimes one would use anything to create a problem. With that Quil was given minor tasks. Quil task consisted mainly of accompanying elder women while listening to their boring conversations.
Though Tyxin was also from a well known and powerful family with high class he was still being punished, reasons being they didn't like Tyxin's father, he was strong, but too carefree and since they couldn't do anything about the father why not take it out on the son they knowing his father wouldn't do anything. Along with Quil Ray was also given little to no task as they knew of his background.
The second morning the boys were off continuing their punishments. Tyxin, Ash, Zen and Lynx were cleaning windows. Aiden, Alfrid and Lawrence were in a food factory. When Alfrid first met the boys he wished their dorm room would catch on fire and they would die, but now he thought maybe he should start the fire. He was in this mess because of them. Ray also got to accompany some elderly ladies to the salon where he had to watch and listen as they were getting their hair and nails done, and he had to listen as they included him in the conversation at times.
At a school they were short handed as a teacher said she was tired and needed a break. Another teacher had to sit in and Quil was to be her assistant. When he entered the school he was swarmed by girls. Some of them knew of his background, but they couldn't just ignore a handsome boy. Some ask for a marriage, some ask for him to be their go-for boy, personal servant, personal foot stool, to be their cook and so on. While it seemed impolite, it was the opposite to them, as to them Quil was being praised and given an opportunity that shouldn't be passed up.
Quil simply rejected the offers getting straight to the point plainly explaining he was serving punishment and he planned to return home. His answer was not of liking to the girls.
The days went by and punishments were over and they were finally allowed to return home. The boys finally landed returning home and they had to start classes immediately. They went to their dorms getting dressed, knowing which class they had the carried on. They had no time to rest. Lawrence, Tyxin, Ash Zen and Lynx met in the hall way near their class. Tyxin took a deep breath in and opened the door, all eyes turned to him.
" Good morning Sir and everyone," his voice confident as always.
" Oh it's you guys," Hexon said his voice lazy as always.
The remaining boys said their good mornings and entered walking to their seats. They looked at the board and there was a new lesson. Classes had carried on without them and in all it made sense, why would classes be stopped because a few were absent. They were behind now, not only in one class at that. They were way behind.
" I heard you guys snuck out to some Pub," a voice in the back laughed and so did others . Ray folded his arms suppressing his irritation, Zen was fast asleep by his table already , Lawrence knew the truth but felt too ashamed to speak up, Ash kept quiet and so did Lynx . All remained silent except Tyxin who said it was a lie.
"Ke, ha," A weird laughed escaped Hexon's lips that lasted less than a second, disappearing almost instantly.
Everyone turned to him as it was the first time seeing something other than his lazy, tired demeanor, While the students were stunned, Tyxin and the others felt that Hexon's laugh was some sort of mockery as if them getting in trouble made him feel better. Tyxin flopped to his seat without another word.
It wasn't too long before the bel rang and it was now lunch time. While the others were at ease Ash and the others knew what was about to happen when they step into the cafeteria and just like expected it happened. Everyone was laughing and whispering about them. Quinn walked over to them as they sat at a table and apologized for leaving them behind. Talking loud enough so others could hear him. He continued saying that they shouldn't have snuck out and he really tried persuading Ayaka and Maya to forgive them, but the ladies were adamant with the decision. While to everyone Quinn looked kind and honest, but to the boys who just returned they knew that he had two faces, probably even more.
School days continued and soon Lynx and the others were no longer the main topic for gossip and with the written exam coming up everyone was mainly focused on studying. The exam score that they got in October will be added with the written exam and by January their report would be out. No one had time to complain or find ways to make 1R look bad, if they wanted to do something they would have to show it in the exams. Not to mention everyone needed to pass or they might not be able to make it into the second year.
If one did not have enough points they might not be able to go to the next grade. If someone failed badly the school might expel them and if they failed by a few mark they would have to repeat and no one wanted that.
All November the students did their best to nail everything in their head. Creating study groups, or even skipping out on sleep. They did whatever they could to memorize information. December came and it was Exam time again, written exams. The exams were taken seriously and the students were searched before entering the exam room. Anyone who was caught with something related to cheating or suspicious of cheating would automatically fail. It was something that teachers repeatedly told the students before exam. No gadget were allowed inside, not even a watch to tell time. All they were to bring was a pen and their ID, nothing more.
The students were randomized into groups in which they took the exams. After two weeks of Exams it was finally the last day and then they would be out for school break. Many students were doing their exams while others were at their dorms. By evening hours when exams were finally over the students were told to gather in the auditorium as it was the last speech before they were sent off. While they were there the principal turned on the huge television that displayed horrible news.
Apparently there had been a bombing in the city a suicidal one at that. A few places were still burning and the smoke spread out in a cloud. There were the cries of children and the police trying to keep everyone calm, while people were being rushed to the hospital.
" What happened?" a voice in the crowd uttered. There were low murmurs everywhere and the Principal grasped their attention by clearing his throat.
" Now as you all just watched, there has been a bombing in the city some minutes ago. I'm still getting Intel but it seems it was suicidal. Unfortunately four people lost there lives and six were gravely injured and eight with minor injuries, if they are lucky enough their core energy might recover it,"
" Gengora has a lot of enemies probably too much… and well….. Anyways one of the main reasons why you're here today is we wanted to discuss what we should do going forward. It's still under discussion but we were thinking we should cancel school leaving break and keep you all on campus" the Principal continued. Everyone gasped in disbelief. They had a lot planned out for the holiday and now they were hearing they had to remain on campus. No one wanted that. The disagreements could be heard murmuring every part of the auditorium some louder than some. The principal cleared his throat again.
" Silence students," and they went quiet. " That was the main plan but, with the little information present from the investigation the bombing seemed random and was simply done in a public area. We aren't too sure but it doesn't seemed related with our school or any family of any of you so we decided school break will continue as planned, with extra precautions though. With that being said enjoy the holiday students and remain sharp," The principal closed off with those being his final words. The students said their school pledge and then with that school was out and everyone left.
