The cave they found was comforting as much as it was cool. The team felt free to unravel here, and focus on what they cared about for once, rather than chase some insane task.
Driola used this opportunity especially well, as she started training her powers. She knew everything one needed to know to become a powerful necromancer, however, knowledge wasn't enough unless it was practiced.
Captured souls resided in a necromancer's heart, and since she wasn't aided by an all powerful demon now, she had to train her heart all over again. She needed to make space for a bunch of random souls, gradually and for the future. It was best to start small.
"668, 669… erg, counting these small bastards is harder than controlling them." She thought, and had sighed enough over the hours to puff the dust off of the cave.
She had killed a few hundred bugs today, and played with their souls too. Over time she realised one thing, she wasn't as burdened when processing souls as she imagined.
