The rest of the trip to planet Sicarius was... Painfully mundane even as we were flying through literal hell. My ward's held up well, and any lesser demons who somehow managed to get onto the ship were quickly slain by either my enhanced Sisters of Battle or the Custodes who were armed with their Supernatural Colts.
Which inflicted true death upon the demons, and in turn meant that the big four assholes didn't know where we were, when there demons coudn't report on our existence or anything.
"Heretic world, Sicarius coming into view." I spoke quietly on the bridge as our spatial folding finally brought us into 'real space', but in reality, as we exited out of the spatial fold, our view was filled with the twisting nether of the Warp.
And far in the distance, literally hundreds of thousands of miles away, technically but easily seen. Was the planet Sicarius, the shrine world of the Word Bearer's traitor legion.
"Release the Nova Bombs in bay one to thirty-five. Send the first half towards the corrupted star in the system." I spoke as I could feel it.
I could feel the wards on the Artemis draining a dozen times more supernatural energy. As the wards that blocked demonic entry and scrying began to overheat in truly blocking the sight of the untold billions of demons in the sector.
After all... This was the Word Bearer's legion homeworld and main fortress world that doubled up as a shrineworld to their dark gods. Only if I invaded an actual Chaos god's domain would there be more demons obviously.
A minute later, I shook and scowled as the Artemis shuddered as 'something' impacted it. "My lord, A Great Unclean One has formed inside the water treatment plant!" A Sister of Battle called out, making me scowl as me showing up next to a shrineworld wasn't going to be a clean and done thing.
"Seal the water systems," I ordered quickly before I spoke again. "Begin the charging of the Wave Motion Gun. And empty the Virus Bomb bays. All of them with their engines set to max power to Sicarius!"
A loud rumble rang out through my ship as the planet-cracking energy canon that was the Wave Motion Gun began its warm-up process to ready itself to fire at full power.
Then another harsher rumble rang out, and the ship's virtual intelligence sent a priority message bringing up the arrival of... Dozens of red-skinned demons are spawning in the Titan manufacturing facility.
'Shit... The wards can't handle the demonic influence.' I thought with a scowl as unlike on other Warhammer ship's I wasn't content to just ignore the damned demons until I finished my battle and plans.
I looked at the power consumption of the ship before scowling, and I activated the second generator with a hum running through the ship before I diverted all the power into the wards.
"Sisters of Battle, bring the Emperor's wrath upon the demons in the manufacturing area," I ordered to the battle-ready sisters who sent a detachment to meet the one already fighting the demons.
Even as the Nova Bombs and the Virus Bombs approached the planet and star itself. I couldn't help my scowl growing as I could see that the star that gave 'life' to this system wasn't a real star itself.
No, it was clearly an eternally burning ball of sludge and filth that was almost certainly made by Lorgar or another Chaos god, perhaps.
My sensors had also picked up that Corvus Corax had left the ship as well... And with how he left the ship into the Warp, that reverberation probably was what was drawing the attention of the countless demons to my ship.
But there was nothing I could say or do to the Raven Lord Primarch.
A spark of blue light formed within the Wave Motion Gun as its several-minute-long warm-up had finished its initial warm-up. "My lord, the Nova Bombs are in position!" One of the sisters spoke quickly.
I nodded firmly. "Activate them!"
And as the bombs activated, a loud thrumming rang out before I felt the gravity even in my gravity-controlled ship triple making me shudder as I was forced into my seat, a dozen conflicting tiny black holes violently erupted.
The sight of dozen's of event horizons filled my eye's and for a moment, I saw the planet Sicarius shudder in place before powerful lightning arced across it and I myself, being the only one in control of the Virus Bomb's activated them as they had entered the shrineworld's atmosphere at this point.
The Virus Bomb's virulent, terrible load quickly filled the planet's extremely turbulent atmosphere due to the tiny block holes filling the system and causing extreme weather changes.
"Prepare the Wave Motion Gun!" I called out to Ecris, the catgirl guardsmen on the bridge, who was in charge of the gun itself, as I was busy sending messages to the guardsmen squads to get into the smaller-scale titans to join in the melee against the Khornate demons.
Then I dragged my attention away from the battle to use my ship's systems to connect to the Virus Bombs before I ordered firmly. "Fire the Wave Motion Gun!"
The Wave Motion Gun hummed to life violently, and I activated my safety visor, which dimmed my view to almost utter darkness as a blinding blue beam of destruction shot out of the miles-long Wave Motion Gun.
I watched in real time as the beam of destruction, that bloomed out to hundreds of miles wide in width shot through the void... And then fucking miss the planet of Sicarius.
And the sight made me freeze. As Ecris literally couldn't have missed! The ship's systems had done the aiming with her just pulling the literal trigger!
With my visor retracting, I snapped my gaze at Ecris, but I froze as she stood up casually still staring at the planet of Sicarus, then her head slowly turned towards me. And with a loud snapping noise, her neck snapped as the bones and muscles gave way to allow her to stare at me with a grin that had bloody teeth stretched from one cat ear to the other on her head.
"Deamon." I spoke aghast at realizing this was no possession... That was a literal demon right there.
And was I proven all to correct even as my sensors picked up how the missiles that sent the Virus Bomb's had been disabled somehow despite being as heavily warded as I could make them.
Ecris's form was swallowed in a swirling robe even as I pulled out my Colt and I snarled out furious beyond fucking measure. "You! Fucking Changeling!" I screamed in fury shooting at the Changeling, the prankster demon who could easily fool even the other Chaos gods.
The enchanted bullets of the Colt passed through the 'fabric' cloth of the Changeling not hurting it somehow and the ship's wards were shattered as a massive eye of blue, purple, and too many tendrils gazed upon the ship.
"You are not a player of the Great Game, Jake Bariss... From the very start, I have been watching you with ohhh so much entertainment?" The Changeling spoke with it's voice overlaid with dozen of other voices.
In the corner of my vision, I saw the Custode's having crossed the rest of the bridge sprint towards the demon with their holy Guardian Spear's but the Changeling? It was one of the greatest of the Greater Deamons.
The two lone Custodes ran into something that made them freeze in place, their armor and countless wards unable to peirce whatever enchantment had ensnared them.
"You were so confident in this Jake, telling people of this... So-called crusade. But, you are but a child, a child who thought a single overloaded ship could destroy all of the Immaterium haha!"
The Changeling howled with amusement, and my reloading of the Colt paused as the Changeling waved his staff and the frozen Custodians. And the rest of the frozen guardsmen and sister's on the bridge melted into pools of blood.
Seeing all my... Companions and soldiers dead, I stood up from my throne, finally even as I felt the Changeling's fel gaze on me fill with greater amusement. "You have been played with since day one Jake Bariss, from the moment you took that foolish little Barg into your retinue, I and others have been watching."
My mind went to foolish but loyal Ogryn whom I had trusted my life to in more than one battle. And my form glowed as I realized what I needed to do now. I couldn't allow Chaos to get control over the ship filled with all its technology.
I couldn't let Chaos mass produce super soldier's, I especially couldn't allow them to get to my Glimmer Fabricators.
"Oh? Besides those weapon's what else do you have? Your minor Anathema nature? My lord Tzeentch has great plans for you, I tell you, so don't think you can kill yourself now haha!" The Changeling cackled as I felt chains of foul magic strangle my Light back within myself.
"No... I had a better idea." I said with a sigh.
The Changeling's empty hood seemingly gazed into my soul, and I knew the abomination was considering thousands of possibilities. But there was just one small issue it didn't account for.
"Fuck you, I will still win," I spoke with acceptance before the Eye of Tzeentch outside the ship that had froze everyone on the ship with it's eldritch gaze blinked as I detonated my secret project.
Following the 'cultivation' path of supernatural energy manipulation. I had created a single Nova Bomb that would act as a spiritual energy black hole. And I knew that it would result in my and everyone else's death for a hundred light years should it be used.
As the moment it started, I lost my vision. As my very soul was ripped out of my body via the spiritual black hole.
Screams filled my 'ears' as with my Traveler senses I could 'see' the blackhole was swallowing our souls in the distance, and in my view I could see the four's gaze in the far distance as I, the demon's and the planet of Sicarius were pulled into the blackhole.
'Well... This fucking sucks.' I thought, as I could feel my soul starting to break down as the spiritual black hole swirled my much stronger soul around itself, as it broke me down.
Then a flare of golden light surrounded me, and roars resounded from the four as the golden light surrounded my form with a deep voice that hit my soul. "Arise, my son. Your task is yet to be done."
And the last thing I 'saw' in the Warp was the furious eldritch gazes of the Four Chaos gods as my soul was whisked away.
