Not everyone had a great Quirk that could set them up for life.
Many in the world had a not-so-useful Quirk or none at all.
Even if they did have a decent Quirk, it did not mean that it was suitable for hero work, whether it was that the capabilities were not suited to the hero duties or they did not create a good hero image.
The image of a hero was just as important, so it would be more difficult to become a well-liked hero with unappealing looks or a type of Quirk that would not be so widely accepted.
Some Quirks were just too unappealing to the public, and they were more suited toward destruction, killing and other things besides saving people.
Others just could not get a good handle on their Quirk, no matter how much they practiced, while some talents bloomed too late in their lives through their hard work, but they had already missed the chance to apply for a hero license.
Those people had to have the usage of their Quirks restricted since they could never get a license, so either they had to accept reality and get an ordinary job, or they sought out ways to make money in the grey and black areas of the world.
Some others sought out more legal paths, like working in promotional or logistical roles under heroes, while some others built things instead to help the heroes.
If they were talented enough, then they could make a name for themselves in the world.
Every individual had a different start as they grew up in a different family background or environment.
Each of them had to face the time when their Quirk manifested or it did not.
Social pressures and much more were included within each environment that could affect them in a positive or negative way.
Not everyone grew up fully understanding their Quirk, and some Quirks were just problematic for some people, as they could influence their personality in some ways.
One person in particular was someone who seemed so very insignificant without anything special about him.
He grew up in a less-than-average family and did not begin to show any special traits that would let him stand out in a crowd.
He was just like any other human, but everything seemed so dull and lifeless from his perspective.
His grades were below average, his physical strength was below average, and so were many other things, like his ability to socialize.
There was nothing that seemed to get him excited or that he was good at in particular, or so it had been noticed that way.
If he had one hobby in his life, then it was collecting toy cars from his time as a child, which evolved into models and remote-controlled toy cars.
It seemed like a hobby of many young boys who grew up to read car magazines and other things related to the things they enjoyed.
Some people ended up growing out of it, while others ended up making a career out of it.
Like most people who had such low grades with lower social skills, which was combined with a poor background, he slipped through the system and was not able to get into the courses he wanted to be in.
With few options available, the time came for him to get a driver's license after working various jobs, which was when things started to change for him.
Once he got his first car, he worked from it, constantly taking on fast food delivery jobs before moving on to other jobs like taxi driving and limousine driving.
Most of what he learned during his free time was from research and asking mechanics about cars so that he could fix up his cars, restore old cars and modify some others.
He even spent some time volunteering at car mechanic workplaces so that he could gain some experience and learn more.
His obsession was driving him forward, and he was learning things while showing great changes, the more that he got invested in his passion for cars.
He did not discover it until much later in his life after consulting a specialist, but he did have a Quirk all along.
The specialist had told him that it was likely that it was related to obsession, but the main perks of it were increased focus, reactions, instincts, intuition, mood and learning.
The downside to the Quirk was that he would become obsessed with one thing that he would latch onto from a young age, so it could have been anything that could have become his obsession, depending on how he had been living.
Some things could be quite positive to fixate on, while others were not so much.
Another downside of it all was that everything else to him was uninteresting; his motivation was much lower.
His focus, reactions, mood, instincts, intuition and learning abilities related to most other things in his life were very low.
The obsession started out small, but it would keep building up throughout his entire life.
