Chapter 81 - Gideons Shop

Tiffany had one contact who could become quite helpful for a large number of things, and he had been quite helpful so far.

Gideon had been put to use by Tiffany to create several different toys that she could make use of.

Some of them were altered to become weapons, while others had other things built into them, which made them just as useful for purposes other than harming others.

The main feature that all of those creations had was that they all looked like ordinary toys that any child would play with or keep close to them.

They could be used as weapons since they could be easily overlooked as a children's toy that was something that many would not consider as being dangerous.

What they would not know was that things were built into them to make use of that type of situation, so long as such people did not notice anything was strange about them.

The functions that had been built into those that had been built so far had proven to be useful against those who were unprepared to deal with them, but they were still far from being perfect.

If things did not go to plan, then those creations would have easily been turned to scrap by anyone who had a Quirk that was good enough to destroy them.

Even an ordinary human could cause damage to them or destroy them if they wanted to.

The only thing stopping them from doing that was that they did not feel the need to unless they felt that there was something dangerous about such things.

Even if they were fortified and improved further to make them more durable and deadly, there would be limitations to what they could do in their smaller sizes and forms.

There existed robots and other things that would be used for sparring and other forms of practice and competition between heroes in the present era, which were far more advanced than anything that had been created for Tiffany so far.

Not even those mechanical creations could fully hold up against teenagers who could qualify for the upper-ranked hero academies in each country.

That only proved that Tiffany was very far from being able to reach the same level as some aspiring heroes or villains who were the same age as her.

She did have certain areas where she excelled quite well, but when it came to combat effectiveness, she was still very far behind them.

Tiffany had been making further requests since then, after being pleased with the result, but she still wanted something better and more effective.

Even she had learned that she needed to have more if she wanted to do things she wanted to do more effectively.

If she wanted to be able to protect those around her, then she needed more power.

Gideon was working on his usual things as he was kept busy with the requests he got to kill others and to build different things for himself or other clients.

He finished the orders that Tiffany had asked for some time ago, so he was quite free, which left some time to tinker on some things.

His hands were carefully holding a screwdriver and wire cutters as he was busy on his latest invention inside an underground workshop that existed underneath his store.

Gideon was finishing up on the last parts of it before moving to tidy up around his workspace, then he moved toward the staircase until he arrived on the ground floor once again.

The stairs and floorboard creaked with each step that he took until he arrived near the back of the store.

His eyes looked around a little before going down toward the back door, which he moved toward and opened.

He stepped outside and turned toward his right side and crouched down toward a metallic boxed area that seemed to be used for some form of storage.

Gideon had long given up trying to find out who had approached him, despite his still being quite curious about who they were.

Since Tiffany had kept her word about not revealing who he was to others, Gideon did not feel so desperate about her potentially betraying him one day.

Her requests were within reason, and he was being paid for everything he did for her, so things could have been a lot worse.

If it were others, then they would have used such a weakness to exploit him for all that he was worth, and they could just as easily turn on him the moment that he had outlived his usefulness.

If he were being treated in such a manner, then he would have been much more desperate to track such a person down, even if it did seem reckless to do so.

If he felt threatened enough, then he would take down such a person, even if he had to take them down along with himself.

Since the relationship was mutually beneficial despite him being at a slight disadvantage, it was not too bad for him if he really thought about it.

He was getting paid quite well, even if his mysterious client knew of his identity.

Gideon opened the hatch before taking out a device from his pocket that was lowered inside.

He studied it for a moment as if checking over everything inside using the device before putting it away once more, and then he reached inside to take out a small parcel.

Gideon returned to the back door and entered carrying the parcel before finding a spot to set it down while carefully unboxing it. "It is yet another job from the mysterious client."

He slowly started to take out the money that was inside before turning his attention toward the letter that came along with it. "Now I wonder what they will be having me build this time."
