Teleportation—the ability was just too abnormal, too powerful.
The version of teleportation that Rob Lucci and Monet had acquired had significant limitations, which conveniently fell within the World Government's acceptable range. They were also strictly instructed to never reveal their teleportation ability to anyone, and this information was classified within the World Government's intelligence network.
Yes, the shadowy figure was none other than Rob Lucci.
Lucci... had also come to steal the Omnitrix!
How did the World Government know about the Omnitrix?
Of course, they had spies within the Combat Laboratory. The technology of Wano Country was far too advanced, and naturally, the World Government had taken measures to infiltrate and gather intelligence. When the laboratory was first built, they sent CP agents to infiltrate it, and recently, they received reports about the Omnitrix, which were relayed back to the World Government.
Eager to acquire the powerful Omnitrix, the World Government sent Rob Lucci, who had the teleportation ability, to retrieve it.
Lucci had been in Wano for some time, waiting for an opportunity, and today, the Shadow Army's attack gave him the perfect chance—a stroke of luck! What would have been a difficult heist turned out to be surprisingly easy, thanks to those mysterious shadowy figures.
However...
Lucci felt a twinge of unease. The woman he encountered earlier had recognized the power he used as telekinesis and identified him as an agent of the World Government. If she survived and leaked this information, it could cause a diplomatic incident. Wano, who had only recently joined the World Government, might even withdraw from the alliance in anger, severing all ties and cooperation with the World Government—an outcome the World Government could not afford.
Lucci had intended to kill the woman to prevent such a scenario, but she was a Zoan-type Devil Fruit user. Although he couldn't tell exactly what animal she had transformed into, he knew that Zoan users were notoriously tough, with incredible vitality. There was no way he could take her down quickly, and dragging things out would only get him caught by Wang's soldiers. He had no choice but to flee.
For now, he could only hope that the woman wouldn't be captured easily. As long as she remained free, there was a chance the incident wouldn't escalate. Even if rumors spread, Wano wouldn't likely act on unverified claims to break ties with the World Government.
Of course, all of this depended on the shadowy woman not getting caught!
As Lucci contemplated this, he suddenly sensed danger approaching. Instinctively, he dodged, but not before a familiar blade slashed across his back. Blood poured out, and Lucci grunted in pain, muttering, "I didn't expect you to escape."
He turned to face the one who had attacked him—a figure, not a woman, but a monster.
A black, humanoid figure with a strange mask on its face, radiating an aura of cold, evil malevolence.
It was Yamato!
As long as there were shadows, Yamato could travel through them. The soldiers who had tried to capture her didn't understand this, making it impossible to hold her.
And though Lucci had teleported out of the laboratory, as long as he was within Wano, he remained within the Shadow Realm's reach, and they could track him.
Yamato had moved through the shadows to catch up to him. And she wasn't alone.
In the silence of the night, several more shadows appeared around them. Lucci felt a cold sweat as he sensed the powerful auras emanating from the shadows.
"It seems our goals are the same," Lucci said softly. "But now that it's in my hands, do you really think I'll just give it to you?"
He gripped the Omnitrix tightly, eyeing the masked shadow generals warily. At the last moment, Lucci suddenly smirked, "Farewell."
In an instant... Lucci's body disappeared again!
Knowing that as long as he remained in Wano, he would not be safe, Lucci had already started preparing for his next teleportation the moment he arrived at the previous location. Now, he initiated a second jump.
This time, he appeared on top of a tree—a spot he had preselected during his reconnaissance before the mission. But he didn't stop; he kept running. He didn't know how the ninja-like shadow figures had tracked him, but he wasn't about to slow down.
"Hand it over, or you won't leave Wano alive."
Sure enough, not long after he teleported, Lucci heard the woman's voice again, filled with anger, as several shadows pursued him.
Lucci sneered, "You'll never catch me."
He wasn't sure how they were tracking him so quickly, but he was confident that on land, they couldn't match his speed. His teleportation combined with his telekinetic propulsion made him untouchable, even if they were stronger than him.
With each leap, Lucci grew more exhausted, but despite the relentless pursuit, he eventually reached the borders of Wano!
One more teleport, and he would be over the sea. Since he hadn't eaten a Devil Fruit, the ocean wasn't a threat to him.
Lucci felt his heart race with excitement. He could almost feel the frustration of those chasing him, which only made his victory sweeter.
As long as he combined his telekinesis and teleportation, even the strongest couldn't catch him!
Just before his next teleport, Lucci grinned and taunted his pursuers, "Farewell, you thieves. Wano will wipe you out soon enough!"
With a smug smile, he initiated his final teleport.
When he reappeared, he was indeed over the ocean. He looked down at the Omnitrix in his hand, a surge of joy filling his heart.
He had done it—the mission was a success!
But then... Lucci's body suddenly froze as he heard a loud boom...
A deafening roar!
He turned mechanically, his movements slow and stiff. What he saw made his blood run cold. High above, on the cliffs of Wano, several massive cannons were trained directly on him.
His triumphant smile vanished in an instant, and the only sound he could hear was the continuous barrage of cannon fire...
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Lucci lost consciousness.
