When Jiang Yue walked into the room, Old Madam Luo was already sitting upright on the bed, propped up by pillows.
Despite her age, there was still a sharpness in her eyes, and they lit up the moment she saw her.
"There you are," the old woman said warmly. "Took you long enough."
Jiang Yue gave a small nod, stepping inside with calm, unhurried steps. "Old Madam."
The older woman gave her a look. "Still calling me that?"
Jiang Yue glanced at her, then looked away, almost like she didn't hear it.
She pulled a chair closer to the bed and sat down.
Old Madam Luo let it go—for now—and reached out to pat her hand. "You've been studying?"
"Mm," Jiang Yue hummed. "Midterms soon."
"And my good-for-nothing grandson? Helping or getting in your way?"
Jiang Yue gave the faintest hint of a smile. "He's... there."
That made the old woman laugh, her voice rough but amused. "That sounds about right."
