In the early morning, a light rain began to fall, pattering softly against the window.
Gu Zhiwei woke up and instinctively reached out beside her: the space was empty. She remembered that Weibao and Lance were sleeping in her bedroom, hesitated a bit, and got up to check on Weibao.
She gently pushed open the door; Lance and Weibao were still asleep.
Neither of them had a blanket over them. Lance was lying sprawled out on the bed wearing only underwear, while Weibao, like a little koala, was sprawled on top of Lance, sleeping soundly.
Gu Zhiwei's expression softened.
"Weiwei." Old Master Gu had arrived at some point and called softly.
Gu Zhiwei hurriedly closed the door. "Dad."
"How is Anan's illness?" Old Master Gu asked with concern.
"It can save a life, but it's costly," Gu Zhiwei looked at Old Master Gu, her gaze meaningful.
Old Master Gu immediately stated, "Money is not a problem, as long as it can be treated."
