It was still night in the Nymph tribe. The sun was not too far from rising, but the night stars still lingered in the sky.
Such a time was not Zuri's usual waking time; however, the loud sounds emanating from outside the tree of life were far too loud to ignore. So the young chief's eyebrows fluttered till he got wide awake.
Due to the alcohol he had drunk the night before, the young chief's mind lingered in a groggy state. The situation eerily made him think of the first time he had awoken in this tree. Just like then, he was bare naked. And just like then, there was no one else around the insides of the tree of life.
He wondered where last night's companion had gone, but he guessed she had other things to do. So he got up slowly and put on his loincloth. He then went over towards the tree opening. But even while being drowsy, the young chief could see the chatter going on outside. The sounds, however, did not seem like the jovial laughter from the night before.
