Fisher squinted his eyes at the line of text on the ground, then raised his gaze to the long staircase leading upwards, where the sunlight shone through the flying snow outside, illuminating the path ahead.
On both sides of the staircase lay many skeletal remains, distinct from those in the hall before, these were in a terrible state, some pierced through by some massive creature, and others split in half. Atop the stairs lay a human skeleton, impaled by a giant spear.
The skeleton was dressed in a climbing robe from Kado, its mouth agape as if experiencing extreme pain before dying. Fisher guessed that this might be the missing former president of the Witch Research Association, and the fact that the Witch Research Association had not found him through the corridor behind them after all this time could only mean that the corridor leading here was not visible to everyone.
"Fisher, that skeleton's hand... It seems to be holding something."
