The usual methods of trying to handle that type of situation were to just accept it or to try and resist it the best that they could, but when faced with those who had more power and influence, it was difficult to fight things that had already been put into motion.
Even if the person involved did not agree with what had been arranged, their feelings about it were not considered as being something that should be considered.
The only way that would be left in that type of situation would be to run away if they really wished to stop it all from happening, but that was something that required a lot of bravery and determination to do.
It was not so easy to escape from such a big family whose influence spread far and wide, so there needed to be someone who could help, and it needed to be handled well enough to be able to succeed in the escape.
