A lot of the new places were often full of people gathering, and the service was very fast, as many instant drinks were made, and everything was done in a cramped environment that had people coming and going constantly.
In those types of places, there was always a much simpler arrangement of tables and chairs for those who stayed and the interior decorations were always kept to a minimum.
For anyone who wanted to enjoy the ambience of a location and enjoy what it had to offer, such places were just too crowded and noisy that which took away the enjoyment of visiting them.
Jack seemed to be someone who liked visiting much smaller places where it was quiet and he could enjoy his hot beverages in peace.
