Yet before I could call out to that stowaway person I had in mind to aid me in my heinous little scheme, Darius' voice once again sounded out, saying with unconcealed worry "This a dangerous game, sire. One where failure could spell a faster doom than if we do nothing, especially if our intentions are revealed prematurely to the Frozen King."
"All schemes, almost by definition, are dangerous and risk ridden games." I retorted the ancient man's worries.
"Indeed, sire." He nodded, but then quickly continued in a grave tone. "But schemes are a vehicle to politics, and all politics are, in essence, is the battling of interests and the equalizing of benefit and cost, and I fear that the possible cost of firmly solidifying the alliance of the northern giant to the western hegemon, possibly forever more against us, is not one weighty enough to equate the scales with the simple, and uncertain probability of delaying the alliance of the two, while attempting to bleed Luminous Empire dry."
