Isis stumbled back, barely spared from the harm the hellfire could have caused to her divine power. But she didn't give up and tried again—only for the result to be the same.
"What is happening?" she mumbled, looking at Grianor and Drayvor.
"The hellfire won't accept you as its owner, Isis. It will only recognize the only owner it ever had," Grianor told her. "And as I said before, power comes to those who deserve it."
"You're lying," Isis spat angrily, already frustrated by the rejection from hellfire. She looked towards unconscious Seren in Drayce's arms, half lying on the floor. "Then how come Sierra's daughter could absorb it? That halfling isn't even half as powerful as me. She is not even a deity."
