Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 [Edited]

(Ten years later)

After ten years of isolation in his cell, Preston was different.

Anyone would be after spending such an amount of time secluded.

He would occasionally talk to the random inmate next door, But that wasn't enough to stop his stay from being a bore.

When Preston got into prison, he decided that it was time he started exercising his body.

He considered that with the ability he possessed, he could train as harshly as he wanted at any age and not suffer growth consequences.

The one-punch man training regime was decent as it helped train some of the body's

muscles.

Not all though, since the waist wasn't a part of them.

He decided he would start with twenty push-ups and then increase as much as he could.

Then he would continue with situps where he would start at twenty and continue after.

And do the same for all the exercises except, of course, the ten kilometres run that he obviously couldn't do since he was in a relatively small cell.

Over the months that Preston kept working out, he could sense himself getting stronger, if that was possible.

It was a weird addicting feeling, he felt that if he kept training, he would be invincible.

Maybe that was another gift that God had given him.

The activities he did were turned into some kind of drug or maybe he could gain strength infinitely by training.

Preston hoped it was the second alternative.

It would mean that he wouldn't be in danger as long as he put effort into daily practice.

*Crying*

Hearing shouts and cries weren't rare in the Sky Box.

After all, when becoming an adult there was a revision of the files that describe the offence and its context. If the law infringement was small enough or justified due to the context, the judges would let you back on the Ark.

However, if the crime was too extreme to be pardoned and the context did not justify the criminality or if the chances of the convict repeating that crime were high enough then the prisoners would get floated

Which was the reason for the crying in some cases.

It was unsettling, due to the scary atmosphere that was created. Like a horror movie in real life.

It also made Preston feel certain things.

Those things being emotions.

But not feeling the emotions. It would be more accurate to say that he could somewhat see them.

It was like God made him overpowered.

He wasn't an expert with his ability, but at least he had improved enough to ignore those sentiments that he perceived to not be overwhelmed by information just as he could discern any people through their current feelings in a diameter between one hundred to two hundred meters. He would get more proficient with it over time.

(Twelve and a half years later)

Preston was finally going to go on the ground, he was a little nervous though since there were all kinds of dangers like the grounders and the mountain men and all kinds of beasts that could rip humans apart with ease. The Pauna, an ape that was probably around two to three times bigger than your average silverback gorilla, was one of them.

While the male was reflecting on his future, guards came into the small cell where he was.

(Preston's P.O.V)

"Turn around and put your hands where I can see them," One of them ordered.

I did so without fighting back. Because fighting was useless and what they were doing was beneficial to me, albeit they did not know that.

They placed on my arm a metal wristband, most likely the same one that held the tracker capable of notifying my vitals of the council.

Thereafter, the men took me to the vessel destined for land

On our way there, I could see a huge commotion, people who were afraid that they would get floated so the other citizens of the Ark could have more air and some who were simply confused as to why they were being taken out of their cells before they became eighteen years old.

I could even see one of the main characters: Clarke panicking and being tranquilised right after.

The small riot was quickly dealt with by the guards who ushered everyone into a calm and organised line.

My small travel towards the Exodus ship was short but uncomfortable as there were gunmen at every corner watching our every move.

Once we arrived, we climbed in through a ladder and I quickly strapped myself into my seat.

"Is that what we went to earth skills classes for?" I heard.

I couldn't blame him for his lack of knowledge, I was the only one who was reincarnated after all.

Seeing them all in person felt different from the series. Even if they all looked the same as in the TV show.

*engines roaring*

The Rocketship's engines eventually started.

We were finally on our way home.
