Rays of light fall upon his black curls warming his freckled nose before shining in his crust ridden eyes. Slowly stirring the sunlight makes his eyes wince as he brushes the sleep out of his eyes.
"What time is it?" Blake shouts out before fighting off a heavy yawn. Making his way into the hallway he scratches at the curls of his black hair.
"Your still here Blake? its already 8:30..." Raven says surprised immediately breaking through his carefree awakening.
'By no means will they abide by your time.' Pyre's warning rings out in his thoughts sprouting intense urgency through his drowsy mind kickstarting him awake in a matter of seconds.
"How do i always manage this." He asks himself slapping the palm of his hand into his forehead. In a flurry clothes and gear are strewn around the room in a controlled tornado of chaos.
"Don't worry about breakfast sis!" Blake shouts out, already shoving his feet into his boots. His worn out cargo jacket flies over his head and is quickly zipped up. Flying down the stairs, the front door gets very close knocking him out.
*Zap*
"Wish me luck sis!" Blake says through a wide smile waving her off leaving a trail of smoke in his wake.
"Running out of time already!" Blake curses himself, his trail soars through the air off the balcony. His ankles scream upon his rough landing.
Freshly awakened muscles are put into overdrive. Burns and cramps are forgotten in his rush. Ripping through surges of traffic. A rush of adrenaline and conviction dominates his awareness.
"I can't be late for this, I need to move faster". Steeling himself Blake slams the toes of his boots into the regencrete, loud hums reverberate off his feet.
"Max output has been selected, energy will be drained faster than usual". A notification is projected on his watch. Displaying the current energy amount being 50%.
''I'll wait to give it more energy, I don't want to overload them yet at least'' His intuition dictates his decision.
A network of alleyways flooded by him. As he continues to build up his unrelenting speed. Tight corridors and alleyways scrape by him as his urgency makes him work on overdrive.
"8:45"
"I'm not gonna make it at this rate, i haven't done this in a while" Inspiration floods forth from a familiar memory.
"Lets see if I still got it". Coiling his muscles at the decision. Blake summons as much force as he can in his legs. Planting his foot into the alley wall, he manages to direct all of his momentum into a leap catching one of the low hanging roofs. Struggling to pull himself up the prosthetic goes into overdrive denting roofing.
"Woo hasn't felt that in a while, looks like strength stat is the next one to upgrade." He grunts through gritted teeth. Rushes of adrenaline blast through his nervous system, his mind continuing to urge his body forward.
Constant roofs of buildings continue to rapidly appear in his vision. The land being fully utilized leaving only forest in specified areas. Continuing his momentum hurdle after hurdle is cleared. Managing to clear them with each jump, Drops of terrifying heights enter his vision.
"This still isn't enough." Blake curses, projecting a screen from his holo-watch.
"8:50. Ten Minutes, I have to think of something quick. There's got to be something." Blake grabs the tips of his black curls trying to rack his brain for a solution. Time begins to vice grip him with stress. He continues to hop roof after roof.
[Would you like to activate Electro web]
[10 Energy]
"Why the hell would that help?" Blake asks with a forming irritation, seeing the seemingly useless system screen suggestion.
"Better yet why is it asking me? If its like a video game, shouldn't it just wait for my input?" He asks himself, trying to figure out the mechanisms of the system.
"Why do i even bother with reason, this thing is in a league of its own." Blake sighs, running his hand down his face.
"Alright screw it why not I've got nothing to lose." He huffs, noticing the dwindling time.
[Electro Web has been activated]
[40/50 Energy]
Activating the skill thin strands of electricity start to surface out of the tips of his fingers, knit together weaving into green webs of static. Putting his indexes together prosthetic and flesh touch with a connection of static.
"Now what"? Blake says pulling his fingers apart, green webs stretch and dangle in response. With nothing to lose he begins messing with the retention. Only for it to spring inspiration to mind.
"THAT'S IT! It will be risky but I've got nothing to lose, either i get there or i fail!" He clenches his fists moving to action.
Attaching strands of static he weaves them together into a strong web connecting it to either side of the roof. A large netting of green webs spreads from one side to other. Sparking and buzzing like a flytrap. The strands of electricity are coiled around his wrists, pulling back with each step he increases the tension in the green webs.
Building the up the tension in the webs to as much as he can bear. Force continues to build up with each step further back.
"Energy received. 75% Energy total" His boots chime with a notification as he places the soles of his boots on the web of static. His boots hum with more intensity than before.
"Ain't that handy." Blake says shifting his attention for a second, the web to finally release the pent up elastic energy launching him forward with explosive energy, his cheeks flap as wind engulfs his face, filling his eye sockets and mouth with air as he soars by the skyscrapers of Boreal. An image of a green star wreaks havoc through the sky.
"HOLY!" An office worker stops in shock, staring out of the window seeing Blake soar through the air.
Rotating his body as quickly as he can, he brushes against the glass and framework of one of the skyscrapers. Passing by just barely in a blur of wind and green.
"Did you guys hear something?" A passerby asks, turning to his co-workers.
"No why?" One of his colleague responds.
"Must be the caffeine don't worry about it." The man sighs, punching his finger on the elevator keypad to head up to his stacks of work.
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Blake continues to scream losing all control of his body in the air. Wind continues to barrel its way down his throat making him choke on his own breath. The exam site made its way into his blurring view.
"WHAT DO I DO!?" A yell escapes him along with some of the remains of his oxygen.
"WHAT DO I DO!" Blake says as the ground continues to get closer and closer dread following suit as the unwanted outcome starts to play in his mind.
His screams alert the nearby participants. Causing eyes to flock to the crashing green star.
"You really are a reckless one." A smirk forms through long flowing blonde hair.
*Snap* His fingers snap ripples leaving his fingertips spreading out in the air like a drop in a puddle.
"Here i thought you didn't pass, looks like my expectations of you were right after all." A soft voice enters Blakes frenzied brain. An odd security touches against his feet, solid ground.
"I didn't wipeout!? I'm not dead!?" He asks, patting down his body checking every bone, shock slowly dissipating as he catches his breath.
"You can thank me for that." A familiar voice enters his ears.
"Morgan!?" Blakes confusion reaching its peak.
"That's right." Morgan smiles wide, waving a hand.
"Your entrance was crazy, managed to make it just in time." Morgan smirks coyly, offering his hand clasping Blakes in a firm handshake.
"8:59 am." Blake says to himself unable to shake the awe seeing the projection of the current time in front of him just before the alarm is due to go off.
"Could have really screwed us both." Morgan chuckles slapping Blakes back.
"But don't worry about that, we have bigger fish to fry." He says gesturing over to the exam tower.
