To avoid disturbing Madam Ye's rest, Wanting stayed outside until ten o'clock before returning home. There were workers moving things out. Initially, Wanting didn't realize that it was her own house being emptied, so she stepped aside. It wasn't until she saw an antique vase being carried away that she reacted and rushed over to stop them.
She demanded, "Who are you people, and why are you moving things from my house?"
The workers didn't pay her any attention, pushing past her as they left, and one of them murmured to another, "What's she holding on to? The house isn't hers anymore, yet she calls it her home."
Wanting felt a thunderous crash in her head.
She shut the outermost iron gate and quickly walked inside.
Madam Ye was startled to see her, "Tingting? Didn't you say you were working overtime and wouldn't be back until the evening?"
Wanting stared at her fixedly. In the living room, apart from the sofa and dining table, most things had already been moved.
