Chapter 892 - Trial Takers - 892

"Now on to the specifics. I want nine major cities to exist in this world, eight around the outside areas and one in the very center. Naturally, the one in the center should be the strongest. The trial takers will only be expected to fight a being at most two realms above them. If a being three realms above them takes action, or an unreasonable amount of beings two realms above take action, you will be considered for execution. The challenge in this trial realm will be to capture a secure item. Be sure to lay out clues as to what that item may be, as well as leaving just enough guards to be a challenge yet still be possible. Understood?"

Everyone in the area nodded.

"Good. Now get to work. Variations can be accepted, but do not stray too far from the intended purpose." With that, the wolf left.

There was no choice but to accept the fact that their Universe was now a trial realm for clan members of extremely powerful beings. There was nothing they could do about it at all.

A Sage Year passed as the nine cities were built. They were massive and seemed perfect in every way. Around 90% of the life in the Universe was concentrated in these nine cities, especially the one in the center.

In the center, all of the strongest beings resided. This included the first beast, first human, human ruler, and the first monster.

The first monster had two identities. One, simply the first monster. With the changes that had taken place, nobody objected to his devouring of living beings. If the first monster was stronger, it meant that perhaps they could break out of this situation.

The other identity was the human ruler's most trusted partner, Nie Shanzi. There was no longer a need for Nie Shanzi to help clear up the chaos within the human races as, in this situation, all of the races were united. Only minor conflicts broke out.

As time passed, and new generations were born, some began to forget the truth about their current situation. There had been a long meeting about whether or not they should spread the truth to children, but it was eventually decided against. It was better for the general populace to live in ignorance. Only important beings would need to learn the truth.

As the first Sage Year passed, a crack appeared in the sky. From it, around a hundred beings fell into various parts of the world. The first group of trial takers was entering the trial realm. Each one of them was powerful, the weakest being a False Immortal and the strongest being a Loose Immortal. They each pulled out some sort of map that perfectly displayed the trial realm to them.

The first monster looked over all of the beings as they came in. To his surprise, most weren't part of the six high clans. Only a select few were. But each one from one of the six high clans stood head and shoulders above the other trial takers. Most lead groups of others towards cities.

The most chosen location was the main city in the center. All members of the six high clans headed there.

The first monster quietly moved out. In this Universe, there was nobody who could hide better than he could.

Beneath the ground, he moved silently towards an advancing group.

He moved towards the ground beneath their feet, when some sort of spiral shot at him through the ground. He dodged and backed away.

The gray wolf at the lead looked at the ground, multiple gray spirals floating around him.

"Don't bother hiding. You cannot hide from the clan members of the Karma sovereign."

The first monster guessed that the wolf he had seen when the walls of the Universe had broken was the Karma sovereign.

The first monster stopped hiding, a mass of tentacles shooting out from the ground in front of the group. They all backed up a few steps, discomfort appearing on their faces. This was so for even the wolf in front.

Countless eyes on the tentacles opened and stared at the group.

A tense and silent moment ensued before the wolf spoke. "What do you want?"

"Information. Answer my questions, and I will allow you to travel towards the main city. Do not answer my questions, and you will be sent elsewhere."

The wolf was unsure, as nobody would be given all the information about a trial realm. Otherwise, it wouldn't be much of a trial.

"Fine. Ask away."

"What is the name of your home Universe?"

"The six high clans reside both within and outside of the Inheritance Universe."

"The Inheritance Universe."

"Yes. It is where the most powerful beings place their inheritance in case they die. It is also the only place where inheritances lost in time can reappear. It is a unique natural phenomenon."

This only left the first monster with more questions. Such as how powerful did the six sovereigns have to be in order to live in such a realm, which would be highly valued across all of existence?

"How powerful are the sovereigns?"

"I don't know. Powerful enough to crush anything they face, I suppose? I've never seen them, so I can't say for sure."

"You haven't seen the sovereigns?"

"Of course not. Who has? Wait, have you?" The wolf asked.

"I have."

"Then this must be a new trial realm conquered by the sovereigns themselves. How powerful did they feel?" The wolf asked.

"Powerful enough to crush anything." The first monster said, simply restating the word the wolf had said before.

"Naturally."

The first monster did not ask anymore questions. He was already pushing his luck as it was, and if someone was watching, who knew how much they wanted him to know?

The group led by the wolf continued towards the main city, where multiple veiled figures entered in disguise.

While the most powerful beings sensed them, they did not take action. Their hands were tied by the rules laid down.
