Anhalt, Siveron People's Federation
Xu
The evening after their train pulled into Anhalt's Central Terminal, Xu walked the streets of Anhalt with her hands in her coat pockets.
All over the city, it looked like construction was underway. Massive, blocky apartments were being made with pre-fabricated slabs of concrete, and despite the early autumnal snows, the construction was in full, unabated swing.
The new buildings were definitely a stark contrast to the highly ornamental remnants of the previous regime. She passed the colorful rubble of a church and recognized the symbols of the dualistic god and goddess of the primary Northern religion, but not which particular orthodoxy.
Religion wasn't a particularly strong force in Aviye, given how most faith was a jumble of the old animistic gods, political and spiritual philosophies, and regional traditions. Invoking the old gods was a decent catch-all to avoid swearing, but Xu preferred to be more precise with her expletives.
