"What does it mean when humans mourn?"
Adrian was already used to their dynamic, he started it after all.
"It depends.''
Flipping the book, he mindlessly took in the knowledge while Aethelstan grabbed the comb which had his name engraved on it, stating the next question as he brushed his silver ends.
It was long, almost waist length, after his parents upkeep of it he couldn't bring himself to cut it.
''On what?''
''Mostly the family's situation.
Like if one of the parents passes on, the owned debt would be difficult to repay or the one left will have to create debts in order to care for themselves and their kids.
It's a very difficult situation to be in, now in comparison if the family is richer off, they can probably survive for longer without incurring debt.
Even then that only depends on the characters of the affected family.
Wether they get lazy and think they will be alright or they realize their unstable ground and work on their foundation.
Now by nobility and royalty it's more a matter of inheritance and coronation.
Who will be the one to receive the world and what of the other.
In each case they mourn but life goes on, after all they have no other choice.
With some life catches up quicker, leaving them no time to mourn as bills only grow.
Sometimes ,most often in nobility, there is even a certain length of mourning assigned to different kind of family members.
Wife or husband mourn the longest, even only wearing black for a length of the time."
"That sounds difficult.
Not really earnest either, much like a task."
It felt pleasant, the brushing of his hair calmed him.
"Hmm, you can say that.
Apparently they even hang flags mid length when mourning. It's quite a system."
"You know a lot."
Feeling Aethelstan settling down on the bed, he twisted, grabbing the comb and continuing both conversation and combing the blue hair.
"I read."
"I've never seen you read a book over humans , it's always something with more intricate details."
"Humans are intricate,
And dangerous, you should be careful."
"You don't even know humans intensely."
"Just a feeling."
"A feeling huh?"
Aethelstan, seeing he was getting nowhere, returned to his earlier questions.
"It must be hard to have their mourning clouded with responsibilities."
"Is it different with elves?"
He had such soft locks, his own always got tangled.
"We care for each other, wether it be out formality or out of friendly bonds.
When one is in mourn, is help not all they need?
That way they can live a life just to mourn."
"Do Elves mourn their loved ones passing their entire lifetime?"
"No but our lives are always longer, what I meant is we mourn a lifetime of humans.
After that it really depends on the elf."
''Elves only love once?"
"No, we can love.
Love in every way, it is demons that can't love more than once, wether high or low.
They can be attracted to and find people to have what feels like love with but real love is something suddenly for them.
They see someone and it just clicks."
"Like fate?"
"It's something special that's for sure.
It got declared to the world by someone who hated demons for the destruction they caused.
As demons can't choose who they love, maybe it's a person they have talked and met multiple times, in other cases it's at first sight.
And not necessarily returned either.
That was the case when the information flooded the world.''
''Did the humans use the information against them?
I mean they where part of the reason your worlds and other's faced extinction.''
''Yes, attacking ones love is a cowards act but those affected by demons wished hell upon them.''
Adrian could understand, a person was capable of a lot.
Losing control was just one of them.
