Chapter 84 - To hell with the Silverhearts!

"You are so easy to tease,~" Ryuk whispered in my ears as I walked back to the ranged target practice area.

'Shut up, I don't want to talk about it. Why did you not tell me that I said something so embarrassing out loud?' I asked holding back my anger.

"I thought you knew, hell I thought that you actually meant it," Ryuk remarked casually. "... But seeing you flustered is a first. I would honestly do anything to see you shaken up like that. Bwahaha-"

"Why you..." I stopped in my tracks as I saw Tommy showing off his bow skills to a certain someone. 'Is that fucking Rose Silverheart?'

"He was supposed to be a playboy before the time skip wasn't he?" Ryuk asked.

'He was but that is a Silverheart... I should have warned him. Does he even know that she is blind?' I asked back.

"Surely doesn't look like it to me, someone should tell him," Ryuk commented.

As I walked closer to them, Rose took notice of me sooner than Tommy had even glanced towards my direction.

'Looks like her ears are healed up,' I thought. "Ahem, sorry for distributing you guys but could I borrow my friend for a moment?"

"I will be right back in a moment," Tommy said with a smile looking at Rose before he turned around and walked towards me, putting a hand around my shoulder and dragging me far enough from Rose to not let her hear our conversation. "Can't you see that I am busy right now? What are you doing here?"

"Look I am not judging you for going after a Silverheart but... You know that she is blind right?" I asked him. "Bow tricks like that are not optimal for... You know... A blind person."

"..." Tommy fell quiet after hearing my response. All of a sudden he felt stupid for trying to show a blind person his bow skills. "I feel like such an idiot."

"That you are. That you definitely are," I remarked. "And believe me, I wish I could help you but I kinda... Ruptured her ears in the entrance exam."

"Did she hear your voice?" Tommy asked back.

"She did... I think. I don't know..." I replied.

"Well, I guess I need to try again later. Let me just see her off," Tommy said.

"You are still going after her?" I asked in surprise.

"I don't see a reason not to," Tommy said before running off towards Rose.

'Rose Silverheart... Hm... She might be more than just a pawn if used correctly,' I thought.

The only problem with Rose is her loyalty towards Roger but that can be easily fixed after I stage his death. Loyalty is a good asset... But sometimes that loyalty can be a weapon for someone else to use.

At first, I didn't have a plan because I thought I could think of something on the spot and go along with it but in that time loop, I realised that doing so might affect the timeline more often. This is why I created a plan, that was stable and included more people, namely the Assassins Syndicate.

However, if I were to control Rose through Tommy then... I can spice things up a bit.

'Sigh... If only Tommy wasn't a racist I might have been able to control Julia as well,' I remarked.

"Don't be too greedy, if he wasn't a racist then he wouldn't be on Earth in the first place," Ryuk reminded me.

'Oh... I get what you mean,' I replied.

Soon after Tommy saw off Rose, my archery training was resumed. Tommy wasn't the best teacher but he tried his best. Currently we were inside the sealed target practice area that was used for advanced training.

The sealed room was made with vibranium and dark matter alloy which made it a good training ground for metahumans and humans. The dark matter served as a growth enhancer for metahumans and a opportunity for normal humans to get mutated and become a meta. Tommy wouldn't have came here if he didn't learn how to coat himself with aura. This place served as a reminder of what would happen if that aura falls off of him. So, technically he was using it in a different way to strengthen himself as well.

The room contained numerous effigies made of the same extraterrestrial alloy as the one I destroyed back in the time loop and on the side of the room was a difficulty manager, set to hard difficulty.

"The position of your foot doesn't matter in archery. I know some might argue with me but hunters like us train differently than most normal archers out there. What they need is a calm mind and firm posture at all times but for you! That is a different case. You need to be calculative while shooting an arrow which means you can't have a calm mind at all times, plus you are a speedster which means posture ain't your thing," Tommy explained, while getting his posture straight. "So, I will teach you how to train like a hunter."

"You sure that's allowed? I mean, hunters won't come after my neck after you teach me would they?" I asked.

"No! Do you think of us as cold blooded murderer or something? We wouldn't go that far for someone who uses the same methods as us," Tommy replied, brushing off my worries for a moment. "We might cripple them though."

"How is that any better?" I asked back in surprise.

"Relax, I was kidding. Hunters don't go after someone who hasn't done anything wrong or is a potential threat. You were once a potential threat so you would know. They aren't all heartless," Tommy said, although he didn't know if that was really the truth. "Anyways, I will now show you how to run and hit so watch carefully!"

"I think you got the phase wrong-"

Without listening to me, Tommy pressed a button on the difficulty manager and started the effigies.

Swoosh~

With a whirring sound the effigies turned on and looked at our direction.

"Exterminate!" The effigies shouted.
