True to Tom's words, Ashley's eyelashes fluttered open a few hours later. Seconds after she woke up, panic instantly washed over her face, and her voice shook with fear.
"My son!" she exclaimed, desperately searching for Jayden, totally oblivious of the startled presences in the room. "Where is my baby?"
"Hey, calm down," Silver called with a smile, walking towards her, cradling the sleeping child in her arms. "Here he is, safe and sound," Silver assured with a soothing voice. "He's been sleeping soundly this whole time."
Tears welled up in Ashley's eyes as soon as the boy's skin touched hers. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she pressed her lips against his forehead and whispered softly, "Oh, my baby, you are safe."
"You scared us to death," Archie said, shaking his head lightly. "How are you feeling now?" He asked.
Ashley turned to him, only noticing the other people in the room. She wiped her eyes with the back of her palms and smiled.
