At another place.
Far from the velvet pillows and lazy warmth of Allen's harem nap, a different kind of stage was being set.
Sophia sat cross-legged in her apartment, camera propped at the perfect angle, lighting adjusted just enough to make her skin look flushed and vulnerable, not glowy. The curtains were drawn halfway, letting in that late-evening glow that could pass as melancholic if framed right.
She stared at herself through the phone screen. Tilted her head. Practiced blinking slow.
Then she sniffed. Blinked again. Her nose turned a little pink. She pinched the corner of her eye—lightly. Just enough to redden the rim. Then she looked into the camera.
And hit "go live."
The stream blinked to life.
For a moment, just a few watchers trickled in. Regulars, maybe. Curious. Silent.
Sophia let out a slow breath and dropped her gaze, letting her shoulder tremble just once. Not too much. Just enough to look fragile.
