She glanced at the room where her mother-in-law lived, and seeing no light through the crack at the bottom of the door, Kang Li knew her mother-in-law had already gone to bed. So, she stepped back into the master bedroom.

Seeing the man leaning against the headboard, flipping through a book, Kang Li's brows and eyes were full of smiles.
"Yes."
Luo Yanqing knew his little girl was asking with full knowledge, yet he chose not to expose her. He closed the book and placed it casually on the bedside table, his eyes gentle, "Thank you for your hard work."
"It's just telling the kids a bedtime story, no big deal."
Climbing into bed, Kang Li snuggled under the covers and heard Luo Yanqing say, "They don't like listening to my stories, saying I can't tell them as well as you do."
