Chapter 92 - More Than A Crush (2)

… Isn't that 404?

On the way back to the campus, Gu Yiran was somewhat dazed. Her mind was so preoccupied that she didn't even bother to look where she was going and just followed her friend mindlessly.

To be honest, she was also one of those fans who were against the addition of 404 to the team.

Everyone was expecting Tian Meng to buy an expensive overseas mid-laner or promote Xing to their main roster, but the reality?

An unknown rookie, who is an Omega, has become the new mid-laner!

Everyone tried to determine 404's origin, but no one was able to come up with anything useful.

Therefore, as a fan, shouldn't she be worried?

For this type of person to land a role as the mid-laner in the main roster, there were ample reasons to suspect that he entered through the back door.

Some fans advised trusting Silence, but at the end of the day, he was also a player. What can he do if the higher-up wants to stuff an Omega into the team?

Gu Yiran, who was a die-hard fan of Silence, joined others in protesting against the new member. However, things changed when 404's face was revealed.

The complaints shifted drastically from concern for the team's future to the potential scandals that might arise in the future from having a beautiful Omega living under the same roof as the other three Alphas.

What would Tian Meng do if the Omega suddenly started seducing the other Alpha players? Wouldn't the entire team get cancelled?!

Seeing such disgusting comments, Gu Yiran was furious. After all, she was also an Omega. They talked as if Omegas were lusting after every Alpha that they encountered and never the other way around.

Alphas usually got off unscathed because they got 'seduced' by Omegas' pheromones, so it couldn't be helped.

Those 'fans' made her nauseated. But when she recalled that she used to be one of them, she was so ashamed of herself. After all, it would be a lie to say that the reason she was dissatisfied with Tian Meng's new mid-laner had nothing to do with his gender.

She admitted that in the back of her mind, she was afraid that her idol would fall for him. Although it was none of her business whether Silence fell in love or not. She should be grateful that her idol found his happiness and is going to live a good life.

This incident made her reflect on herself, and she finally realized how shallow she had been as a fan. Just when she considered taking a break from chasing idols, she unexpectedly bumped into her idol in the parking lot, out of all places.

Her dopamine burst. She couldn't think of anything except for the fact that Silence was right in front of her in the flesh. First things first, she had to record this precious moment to prove that she was not dreaming; nothing else mattered.

However, after the excitement passed, she came back to her senses.

Gu Yiran did notice that Silence had changed a lot, especially when the matters involved 404.

Other fans were coping by claiming that he was forced to do fan service by the higher-ups, but Gu Yiran knew that if Silence said he wouldn't do it, no one could convince him otherwise.

The image of the two tall figures standing side by side with their shoulders touching resurfaced in her mind. Gu Yiran stopped abruptly in her tracks. She slowly covered her mouth with her right hand while her eyes widened to the size of a goose egg.

Those. Two. Are. Dating! I. Am. Sure. Of. It!

Gu Yiran instinctively grabbed her friend's hand, wanting to talk about this explosive news, but just as her mouth opened, she hurriedly clammed it shut.

No. If news of this were to get out, Silence and 404 will be put in a bad spot.

And what if they decide to break up due to pressure from the public?

Gu Yiran's expression suddenly turned grave at the thought of this possibility.

''Haha, are you still out of it from meeting your husband?''

Her friend's teasing voice finally snapped Gu Yiran out of her stupor. She let out a confused 'huh' before her words finally sank in. The moment she received the information from her brain, her heart dropped to the ground, rolled down the street, and was cruelly hit by a truck.

Gu Yiran buried her face entirely into her hands and screamed into them.

I called someone else's husband right in front of his face, ah, ah, ah!

Gu Yiran's friend didn't expect her to be this over the moon from meeting her idol. She laughed heartily, ''Haha, should we pop a champagne to celebrate?''

Still with her face covered, Gu Yiran answered, her voice muffled and depressed, ''What is there to celebrate? I just made a fool out of myself…''

Mistaking her words for being hurt by Silence's cold treatment, Gu Yiran's friend hugged her shoulder and comforted, ''Don't worry about Silence giving you a cold shoulder. He has always been like that! But got to admit, the fact that he didn't even give a pretty girl like you a second glance, as expected of the master!''

At the mention of this, Gu Yiran lifted her face to look at her friend as if she had just heard the most ridiculous thing in the world.

Why should he, when his boyfriend is a literal fairy???

In the meantime, Tian Meng's five players were shopping in two groups—one for snacks and another for dinner.

Fu Yue, as a chef, took the responsibility of grocery shopping. He took his time to select the ingredients, and for a moment there, he temporarily forgot that he had a boyfriend who was pushing the cart right behind him. It wasn't until he heard a soft chuckle did he came back to his senses and turned to look at the taller man while holding a giant cabbage in his hands. Fu Yue asked with a hint of confusion, ''What are you laughing at?''

Still with a smile in his eyes, Wei Chen shook his head slightly, ''I just thought of my parents.''

Seeing that a question mark seemed to pop up on top of his head with his answer, Wei Chen further explained, ''My mother usually picks the most expensive item on the shelf. My father, on the other hand, is a bit frugal with money; therefore, shopping can be a bit stressful at times.''

Fu Yue rarely heard Wei Chen talk about his family, so his interest was immediately piqued. ''So how does it usually end?''

Wei Chen took the cabbage from Fu Yue's hands and put it into the cart while answering with a light smile, ''When they finished shopping. They stopped to debate whether this item should be bought or not.''

Fu Yue blinked his eyes, ''... What if neither side wins?''

Wei Chen's eyes bent; even with the mask on, it still couldn't hide his fondness for his family.

''Then my father would take a step back. When that happened, my mother would also cut down some of the items on her own accord in order not to hurt his feelings.''

Guess he has a loving home.

This thought struck Fu Yue, which made him nod with a smile. ''Sounds like Aunty and Uncle get along quite well despite the difference in their personalities.''

Wei Chen issued a low chuckle and said, ''Just like us.''

Upon hearing this, Fu Yue cocked his head to the side, his expression clearly showing that he disagreed with his words.

''I don't think we will have that kind of problem.''

Fu Yue meant it. Rather than saying that they were different from each other, it was suitable to say that they complemented each other.

Wei Chen didn't look like someone who liked to spend money, and neither does he.

Seeing that Fu Yue didn't believe him, Wei Chen admitted coolly, ''When it comes to spending money, I rarely care about the figure.''

Fu Yue was stunned upon hearing this. But when he stopped to think about it for a second, he realized that Wei Chen was telling the truth.

Just like his outfits, for example, he dressed low-key, but it could be discerned that they were all of high quality.

Not to mention, whenever they ate out, before they even realized it, Wei Chen had already paid the bill.

Well, he doesn't lack any money anyway…

Fu Yue, who was dirt-poor for more than half of his life, strangely realized that he had somehow bagged a filthy rich boyfriend.

The Fu family's wealth belonged to the original Fu Yue, but his boyfriend was his person.

At the thought of this, Fu Yue finally felt like a rich little man. He patted Wei Chen's back and jokingly said, ''Don't worry. I can afford to raise you!''

Hearing that instead of keeping his wallet in a tight grip, he even indulged him, Wei Chen's eyes bent into a crescent shape. His sapphire-like eyes were sparkling like the surface of the blue sea beneath the bright sunlight.

Without as much as a pause, Wei Chen proudly accepted his status as a kept man with a slight nod as if praising himself for doing a good job, ''Good thing I found the right sugar daddy.''

Fu Yue, ''...'' Who said that this man is as clean as snow? Come out, this Laozi promises not to beat you!

Fu Yue awkwardly took back his hand and resumed their shopping, ''Let's be quick. Otherwise, who knows when another fan of yours will pop up?''

When the topic of his fan was suddenly brought up, Wei Chen pretended to be distressed. He lamented, ''To think that someone else calls me 'husband' before mine even did…''

He dragged out his voice and made a point by glancing at a certain person, but that certain person grabbed a bag of potatoes, seemingly not catching what he had just said to him.

Well, it would be more convincing had his ears not flushed red.

Of course, Fu Yue understood the girl's reaction and was not in the least bit disturbed after hearing another person call his boyfriend 'husband'.

What really disturbed him was what Wei Chen said after reaching him.

Husband, shall we get going?

Fu Yue almost dropped dead on the spot.

Dropping the potatoes into the cart, Fu Yue walked briskly to the meat section without as much as giving another glance at Wei Chen.

Wei Chen smiled helplessly and quickly followed after his runaway boyfriend.

''Wow, I almost have diabetes from watching them. When will my destined one appear?''

Just as Li Haoran watched his captain and his mid-laner with envious eyes, Yang Yuxuan's sarcastic voice sounded from behind.

''I don't know about a boyfriend/girlfriend, but your college exam sure will find you soon.''

Li Haoran, ''.....''

The rest of the shopping went smoothly. Not long after, the five arrived at their destination.

Li Haoran tremblingly pointed at the 'side villa' and asked with a voice full of confusion, ''Are you saying that this is considered 'small'?''

If so, what is made of his house? A doghouse???

Fu Yue looked at him with eyes full of understanding. After all, he also had the same reaction when he first arrived at this place. However, although this place was enormous, it was indeed incomparable to the Fu family's main house.

Fu Yue slightly cleared his throat, his eyes dodging to the side, still not used to being a rich young master, ''Well, it is smaller than our main house, that's for sure.''

Hearing this, Li Haoran's expression suddenly turned solemn, ''I am serious. Is your family open to adoptio–?''

Yang Yuxuan slapped the back of his ADC's head to knock some sense into him. He disdainfully sneered, ''Why are they looking for an adopted son when they already have such a son-in-law?''

With this comment, everyone turned their eyes to their Captain, who was acting as their driver. Wei Chen looked at them through the rearview mirror, the corner of his lips curved, ''How can I be the son-in-law, when my h–''

Fu Yue pinched him hard at the waist and smiled at him warningly. Wei Chen immediately stopped his teasing and pulled the car over. His tone completely changed, ''Get going.''

The three milled out of the car obediently, and Fu Yue finally took back his hand. At the same time, he couldn't help but lament in his head.

Damn, he didn't really have any excess flesh for him to pinch!

''Before we go. Let's set some rules first. Don't let Aunt Xing know about us.''

Wei Chen didn't have to ask him why. Even if Fu Yue didn't say it out loud, he wouldn't dare reveal their relationship to his family members.

In the Fu family's eyes, he must have become a pig that dug their family's cabbage.

They had barely started dating, Wei Chen refused to put their relationship at risk.

Wei Chen ruffled his hair with a smile, ''Don't worry, I know.''

Seeing Wei Chen agree so easily, Fu Yue felt somewhat guilty.

It was not that he wanted to hide their relationship, but if news were to reach his father and big brother…

Just the thought of it made Fu Yue shiver.

As promised, Wei Chen resumed his duty as a captain without stepping over the line. It almost looked as if they had reverted to when they just started becoming teammates.

Wei Chen carried the grocery bags into the kitchen and turned to ask Aunt Xing in a polite tone, ''Is there anything that I can help with?''

Aunt Xing waved her hand and giggled, ''Don't worry, just me and the Second Young Master are enough! However, if it doesn't bother you, you can set up the table!''

''Everything is over there.'' Fu Yue chimed in with a slight raise of his chin in a certain cabinet's direction.

Wei Chen gave him a nod and started taking what he needed from the cabinets.

After he left the kitchen, Aunt Xing scooted over to Fu Yue and slapped his shoulder with a big grin, ''That's your captain, right? Aiya, that young man is even more handsome in real life, and he is well-mannered too!"

For Aunt Xing, who has been witnessing the beauty of the Fu family members every single day, to say this, Wei Chen's beauty was indeed off the charts.

Having his boyfriend praised by a close family member, Fu Yue, of course, was pleased. Unknowingly, he smiled fondly, ''I know, right?''

Aunt Xing immediately caught this look of his. She covered her smile with her right hand and teased, ''Oh~ Is someone in love here?''

Her words jolted Fu Yue awake. After a brief pause, he said, ''...Don't tease me. He already has a boyfriend.''

Aunt Xing's eyes widened in shock. Disappointment was clearly visible on her weathered face, ''Really?''

Fu Yue nodded and added, ''But please, keep this a secret.''

Aunt Xing gave him her promise with a sigh, ''Well, it is to be expected, and here, I thought that I had found a potential husband for my second young master, what a shame!''

Fu Yue did not comment and refocused on cooking.

With Aunt Xing's help, it didn't take long for a lavish dinner to appear on the table. Aunt Xing conscientiously left the room to let the youngsters be on their own.

Fu Yue went to his bedroom to change his clothes before rejoining his group. On his way out, he accidentally knocked over a decorative ornament on the dressing table, causing it to roll under the bed.

Fu Yue sighed at his own clumsiness. He took out his phone to open the flashlight and shone it under the bed. Fortunately, it didn't roll far, and he could reach it with a slight stretch of his arm, but what caught his attention was a certain white box.

What's that?

Aunt Xing personally cleaned this room. She was such a meticulous person that she cleaned every nook and cranny. Evidently, even under the bed, it was squeaky clean. Therefore, this lone box looked so out of place.

The fact that it was not removed meant that it was meant to be there.

Since the floor was clean anyway, Fu Yue slid under and pulled the box over.

The box was light and small. On top of the box, there was a familiar handwriting.

To Fu Yue.

Fu Yue could tell that the handwriting belonged to the original Fu Yue, which ruled out the idea that this was gifted by another person. Perhaps because he was also "Fu Yue", he had a strange thought that the box was addressed to him.

Before he could see what was inside, there was a knock on the door, and Yang Yuxuan's voice was heard from behind the door.

''Are you done? Everyone is waiting for you.''

''Coming!''

After Fu Yue opened the door, Yang Yuxuan immediately caught sight of the box he was carrying, ''What's that?''

Fu Yue quickly found an excuse, ''Some stuff that I want to bring back with me.''

Yang Yuxuan gave a cursory nod and turned around to go downstairs.

Since there is a big match tomorrow, no one dares to overdo it. They ate and drank just enough to fill their stomachs.

Li Haoran excitedly stood up and raised his glass of orange juice, ''Tomorrow, let's teach SZ a lesson!''

Everyone chuckled at the youngest's speech, but played along nonetheless. They all clinked their glasses, gearing up for their match against SZ tomorrow.
