Hearing Dionysus' comment, the gods remembered their earlier discussion, many of them thinking about not letting their Familia go deeper into the dungeon until the situation settled.
Back to the screen, the Goliath rained down punches on the downed Dadaneuph. Its booming punches buried Dadaneuph's head into the floor, but the Goliath was not done — it only increased its punch speed and strength, not caring where they landed.
The punches created a dust cloud, obscuring its vision, but Goliath didn't need to see its opponent. Suddenly, it stopped throwing punches. It lifted its upper right arm to find the hand missing. Its smile turned into confusion as it lifted its other arms to find all of them missing their hands.
From the dust cloud, a black-armored arm appeared and grabbed Goliath's face. The palm heated up and launched a massive flame attack, drowning Goliath's face. The massive wave cleared the dust cloud to show the dented face of the demon, its armor glowing red with heat.
As the attack ended, leaving a charcoal head of Goliath, Dadaneuph crushed it into bits. With the head gone, Goliath fell on its back, defeated.
Dadaneuph, seeing the threats eliminated, breathed out a fiery breath, cooling itself down. As its armor turned black, the dented parts started fixing themselves. The armor on its chest realigned, then it fixed the right side of its face. As it was trying to realign the left side of its face, a roar broke its concentration.
Looking down, it saw Asterius running toward him. Seeing the ant challenging him, it kicked the ground, throwing massive debris toward him. Thinking it to be over, it concentrated back to heal its face.
SLASH!!!!
Dadaneuph looked down to see its left leg sliding, slipping along a wound separating it from its feet. Seeing Asterius by its feet, it was enraged. While stumbling toward the left, it put its whole strength into its right punch. Seeing the massive punch coming down on him, Asterius pulled his sword back — on its edge shone blue light.
Just as the punch reached his face, he grunted and swung his sword. Blue lines appeared all over the demon's punch.
SLASH!!! SLASH!!! SLASH!!!
The punch broke apart into many pieces. Now on its left knee, the demon felt it had found a worthy opponent. It accumulated fire magic in its mouth. Asterius was not going to miss this opportunity. He jumped on the demon's right arm, running along it, pouring more and more magic into his sword.
Dadaneuph kept its aim on him. It placed its left hand in his way to buy time. Seeing the palm in his way, Asterius leaned forward and, with all his strength, jumped straight forward.
CRASH!!! BANG!!!
Asterius pierced straight through the palm, came out the other side without his horns, and molten metal scalded his shoulder. With his body on fire, he increased his speed. Reaching the demon's shoulder, he jammed his right foot forward to skid while pulling his sword back on his left, readying to strike.
Opposite him, the fiery eyes of Dadaneuph were locked on him. Both parties wanted to end it in one hit.
Asterius came to a stop and slashed a horizontal swing, launching a blue slash. At the same time, Dadaneuph launched his fire breath.
The blue slash easily divided the fiery breath. Seeing the slash getting closer, Dadaneuph concentrated the breath, decreasing the diameter, turning it into a beam.
The beam of golden fire slowed down the slash, but it still crept toward Dadaneuph's face. Deciding to give it all, he poured the remaining magic in an instant. The gold turned to white for an instant, and then a massive blast occurred.
From the blast cloud, a small figure jumped out and fell to the ground. Asterius was heavily injured but still standing. He started pouring all his remaining magic into his sword, making it glow bright blue.
PHEW!!!
Dadaneuph's breath blew away the cloud to show a gash on his face. It started from its eye to chin, from which golden molten metal dropped out.
Seeing Asterius ready for another attack, Dadaneuph decided to fight long range. Still on his knees, it opened its arms wide and summoned many balls of fire. Just as it was about to launch them, its arms were caught by an unexpected opponent.
Turning back, it looked at the Goliath's four arms holding its two arms. Everything above the left eye was missing, but the steam coming out of the area showed it regenerating.
"ROOOARRRR!!!" Dadaneuph tried to pull its arms, but the Goliath's grip was tight. Dadaneuph launched the fireballs on Goliath, burning what face it had regenerated, but the Goliath, still creepily smiling, didn't release its grip.
BOOM!
Asterius disappeared, leaving a crater in his place. Dadaneuph looked around to find him; his eyes spotted blue sparkles falling. Looking up to their source, he spotted Asterius falling from above. Asterius was holding his sword above his head with two hands. Blue magic energy covered the blade while some spilled out in the form of sparkles.
Reaching just above his head, Asterius breathed out and swung his sword downward, releasing a perfect crescent-shaped blue slash. Now familiar with its technique, Asterius was able to control it well, making the slash razor thin.
Feeling the danger of being bisected in two, Dadaneuph used all his strength to shift right. The slash sliced his left shoulder, traveling down to his waist. Reaching its end, the slash burst, releasing a large amount of magic from the wound, widening it more. Goliath pulled Dadaneuph apart, tearing it at the wound.
BANG!!!
Asterius landed on his feet, creating a crater. Planting the sword into the ground for support, he took a breather.
"ROOOOAAARR!!!" Dadaneuph was enraged — not because of his injuries but because he didn't get to fight back. Knowing now was his chance, he decided to take a gamble. He summoned three massive fireballs.
Seeing this, Asterius took his sword out, ready for the attack, but Dadaneuph did something unexpected — he launched those fireballs on his own right arm.
BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!!
Dadaneuph, still on his knees, placed his only foot left — the right foot — on the ground. He pulled himself forward while the Goliath was holding his arms.
SPLASH!!! SPLASH!!!
Dadaneuph's left side started ripping away while the molten metal flowing from its wound splashed on the ground.
"ROAR!!!" With one more push, its right arm started ripping apart.
"ROARRRRR!!!" With one last push, its right arm separated while the left side also separated, causing it lots of pain — but now it was free. Putting all its strength in its right leg, it jumped.
The ground beneath him cracked and caved, sending shockwaves in all directions. Asterius dug his sword into the earth to anchor himself. The Goliath fell backward under the pressure. Both looked at the demon in the air aiming for the eclipse.
Dadaneuph, who was giving his all to reach the sun, felt his instincts scream. Looking back down, he spotted Goliath lying on the ground, on his palm Asterius ready for launch.
SWOOSH!!!
The instant he saw Asterius launch, he put all his magic in his right leg. A large fire burst from his feet pushed him forward.
BANG!!! CLANG!!!
Dadaneuph couldn't see Asterius, but the sound of crashing into the crystal above him told him what he wanted to know. Facing forward, he reached out for the sun; his hand could feel its warmth.
BANG!!!
A massive force on his back pushed him down. He fell 50 meters straight down, crashing into the ground. The massive impact cracked the upper part of the whole floor, throwing the burning trees and stones straight up. As the shock wave settled, it rained burning embers and dust. A massive dust cloud encompassed the impact center.
From the impact center, Asterius walked out with Zangetsu on his shoulder. He walked toward the downed Goliath as if checking his teammate's health.
CLICK!!!
Hearing the sound of stones moving, Asterius turned back toward the impact center, placing his sword in front of him.
SHINEEEE!!!! BAMMMM!!!
A light beam appeared in the dust cloud, and then Asterius heard a blast in the back. The camera turned to show a massive crater on the wall; the wall at the impact site was melted into liquid.
The camera turned to show Asterius' face, which looked frozen in time.
DRIP!!!
Blood poured out from his mouth. The camera went down to show a hole in his chest. The camera aligned to show the massive hole aligned with the impact on the wall.
Asterius fell face-first into the ground.
"ROOOAR!!!" The regenerated Goliath stood up to fight.
SHINEEEE!!!! BAMMMM!!!
A light beam passed just above its head; it moved down, slicing the Goliath in two.
PUFFF!!!!
Goliath turned into salt, leaving a massive magic stone, which was divided into two. Behind it, a waterfall of molten rock flowed down the wall.
PHEWWW!!!!
The cloud of dust parted to show the healed and improved Dadaneuph. Its chest armor was gone, clearly showing a black sun. The other parts of armor became pitch black, with fire overflowing out from the gaps between them.
"RAAAAAGHHH!!!" The Demon of Calamity was ready to start the end of this world.
