As she turned into the welfare home, she saw a familiar car parked in the yard. Chen Wanru frowned, then pushed open the car door, hearing a burst of laughter. Turning her head to look, she spotted a group of familiar children gathered around that long-lost familiar man.
Su Chen.
A trace of surprise flashed in Chen Wanru's eyes, and she stood silently by her car, watching Su Chen and the group of children.
The children were quite playful and had clearly become familiar with Su Chen. A little girl even climbed into his lap, her mouth open, wanting him to feed her. Su Chen was dressed in a suit, with the buttons of his cuffs undone and rolled up, exposing a segment of his arm. The tidy clothes were ruffled by the children's climbing and grabbing, but this in no way diminished his inherent genteel demeanor.
Su Chen's attention was entirely on the children. Bowing his head and lowering his eyes in the bright sunshine, he seemed very much like a man as gentle as jade.
