The command post of the retreating Dwarf 11th Corps was set inside a cave, which appeared rather concealed and less susceptible to air raids by the Tang Army.
The cave was piled with various ammunition boxes that the officers temporarily used as tables and chairs, with many of them covered with documents or maps.
At the cave entrance, cables were connected to an external power generator, along with some lines linked to distant radio communication equipment. A group of non-commissioned officers were busily attempting to contact their retreating subordinate troops.
"General... it seems that our easternmost units have encountered resistance from the Tang Army; we are likely surrounded," a staff officer reported unconfirmed news to his superior, "We also can't contact some units; we are trying our best."
