The battlefield inside the Furnace Fortress had already started to turn chaotic, with the front lines beginning to blur, and some areas showing signs of crisscrossing.
A Dornish soldier dressed in an unusual outfit was breathing into his cupped hands, trying to warm himself up. He wore civilian clothes, stuffed with wads of newspapers inside.
This method could keep him somewhat warm, preventing him from freezing to death in the cold weather. Even so, he could only fight indoors, because it was just too cold outside.
There had already been two snowfalls in the Furnace Fortress, something the Dornish soldiers from the South of the Eastern Continent had never seen before.
Most of them had never seen such a snowy scene in their entire lives; the vast majority had never touched snow. Because of poverty, they hadn't even seen artificial ice: things like popsicles were, in their understanding, legends.
