Chapter 5 - Ruler

"Wake up."

With bleary eyes, Jon felt heavy to fully open his eyes. His body felt weak and sore. He positioned his hands to the side, then pulled his waist to the left and right alternately until a 'crack' sound was heard from his waist, indicating that the soreness he felt had decreased.

—Damn, my body feels so sore.

Jon's face looked unkempt, coupled with his zombie-like gaze. His small iris was covered by slightly pale brown lenses. He had short black hair in a mullet style, shorter than usual. He also had a three-centimeter knife scar on the side of his right lip that almost tore his mouth.

Jon was a vocational high school student majoring in automotive engineering, in his final year or third grade. He was 176 cm tall, weighed 81 kg, and had tanned skin. People would easily assume that Jon was a troublemaker, and it was true that he was the number one teenage thug, the ruler of the school.

He was also a member of one of the most feared motorcycle gangs in the city. Jon, who had just woken up, suddenly felt dizzy and hungry at the same time.

"Ugh, what is this smell?" he complained as he sniffed the air trying to find the source of the smell, but for some reason, the smell seemed to disappear.

—Even though I took a shower yesterday, why do I smell again? I didn't even attend the party last night until it ended, I don't know. I need to take a shower, then find something to eat.

Jon tried to push his body to stand up, but suddenly both of his palms felt something wet. He realized that there were several puddles on his bed, indicating water stains on the mattress. And the stain he saw was really big.

—Leak?! Rain? Or (urine)... no-no! That's impossible!

Slowly he looked towards the roof of his room, but did not find any signs of leakage. Then he looked down... Jon was silent for a moment after seeing that his pants were completely wet.

He couldn't believe what had happened. As someone dubbed the 'strongest teenager,' he had done something incredibly embarrassing. It was impossible to imagine that he would ever do such a thing again in his life.

As his heart sank, someone suddenly knocked on his door, trying to force it open. Jon panicked instantly, not wanting anyone to know what had just happened. Quickly, he stripped off the sheets and his pants and threw them into the washing machine in a jumbled mess.

The knocking grew faster and louder. As Jon went to open the door, he suddenly felt an intense pain in his head that came out of nowhere. The loud knocking sounded like it was slowing down and echoing in his ears.

A brief, unfamiliar memory flashed through his mind, and he saw a world that was completely foreign to him. It was clear that this world was not the one he was living in. He was certain that what he was seeing was just a dream. When his vision faded away, the pain he felt disappeared as well.

He was surprised by what had just happened, but he didn't pay much attention to it.

Half-naked, Jon slowly opened the door, trying not to open it completely. He didn't want anyone to know that he had wet his bed with his own urine.

"Dwiki?!!!!"

"Aunt?"

"Dwiki?? Are you still alive?! Ugh... what's that smell... Dwiki!! Are you okay?!!" his aunt yelled hysterically.

"Yes? Yes! What's wrong? I'm fine, why?"

—What's with that question? Of course I'm still alive.

"Open the... door... Aaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Hey! Why are you naked?!! Pants! Pants!."

—Oh... I forgot.

"Why?! What's going on? Just tell me, it's really messy here, and I just woke up!"

"Just open the damn door! Open it quickly!"

"What's going on?! I'm fine, nothing happened here."

BRUGGG

Jon closed the door tightly. His aunt closed her eyes, shook her head, and took a deep breath.

"Eh, Iki! Dwiki!! Hey!! You bastard! Why haven't you come out of your room for three days? Everyone is worried about you! What are you doing?! Are you doing drugs, huh?! You even took off your pants, do you think I don't know, huh?! You put it up your ass, didn't you?!! Watch out if you use that kind of stuff in my apartment! I'll kick you out and you'll know how it feels! You son of a bitch!"

Her eyes were bulging, and her loud voice could be heard outside of the rental area. Those who heard it immediately stopped their activities and stared at the landlord who was scolding her nephew.

After saying that, there was a brief moment of silence.

"N-No... I didn't do that! Why would I do something like that?! That's weird."

—What is this awful parent doing, starting a fight so early in the morning.

"If there's something wrong, just tell me! Don't keep sulking in your room all the time! Don't act like a child! You're so unclear, you damn kid."

—K-Kid? Damn yo- hah.

Jon clenched his fists, he was very angry to hear that. Jon was someone who was easily ignited emotionally, he was someone who couldn't control his emotions well.

He really wanted to open the door and hit his aunt for everything she said to him. But suddenly his mother's face flashed in his mind, and it drastically reduced Jon's emotions.

Jon realized that what he wanted to do was already too excessive. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down.

"Okay, aunt."

Jon didn't want any prolonged argument, he surrendered and accepted what his aunt said. Besides, Jon no longer cared about what his aunt said to him.

After his aunt left, Jon immediately turned on the washing machine and cleaned up all the mess that happened in his room, especially his bed. After that, he took a towel and showered, cleaning his very smelly body.

Jon was a first-year student who was notoriously terrifying, sadistic, and ferocious.

His name was already known since Jon was a first-year student. The entire school in the city where he lived certainly knew and had heard about Jon, about how terrifying he was through the stories they heard from mouth to mouth.

A story recounts how Jon brutally and indiscriminately slaughtered his enemies during a brawl. Even when his enemies used weapons, Jon stood at the forefront without fear. His courage seemed like an intangible weapon that made people more afraid of him.

The scar near his mouth was a tangible proof of all the stories about him. However, those stories made Jon feared and avoided by the normal students, which greatly disturbed him when he was trying to live a more peaceful life.

Although all the students feared Jon, other naughty and courageous students came every day to challenge and test themselves by fighting him, and this greatly disturbed Jon.

On the other hand, Jon was not the person that people described. The stories about him were not entirely true and were mixed with lies exaggerated by irresponsible people. They did it so that when they told the story, people who heard it would see them as 'cool'.

In reality, people like them were only hungry for attention and worse than the stories they spread about Jon.
