Chapter 3 - Draft 2

'Where the fuck am I?' Waru Tanuvasa thought, attempting to vocalize her confusion, but her efforts were hindered by an unfamiliar affliction—her voice reduced to incoherent babbling.

"Goo goo ga ga," she gurgled, her tiny attempt at expressing frustration, the intended meaning being, "You're fucking kidding me."

The confined space of the infant's body intensified Waru Tanuvasa's frustration. In her attempt to grasp this bewildering reality, she babbled incoherently, desperately seeking her family. "Uncle! Kisione! Aukuso!" she cried out, the names tumbling from her baby lips with urgency.

The air echoed with her cries, a chorus of desperate pleas. "Guys, stop playing! This isn't funny!" she exclaimed, tiny arms flailing in panicked baby babble.

The last memory etched in sixteen year old Waru Tanuvasa's mind involved her faking sickness to skip Sunday church. With a Grammy-nominated performance, she convinced her strict uncle of catching Covid.

However, just as victory seemed within her grasp, shit hit the fan. In the last second before heading to church, her uncle disconnected the internet, severing Waru's lifeline to her Narutoverse webnovel fanfictions. It was a digital blackout, leaving her frothing at the mouth.

Once the coast was clear, desperate for her webnovel fix, she disguised herself, donning her brother's clothes in case any family spies caught sight of her and reported to her uncle. Successfully reaching the library, she finally accessed the cherished free internet. Just as she delved into the evaluation fight scene between Obito Uchiha and Kagami Uchiha, the lights in the library went out, and the entire room shook—a sudden earthquake. Then, everything went blank.

"And now look, I'm a fucking baby!"

In Waru Tanuvasa's mind, a guttural cry echoed, escaping her lips as unfamiliar memories flooded her consciousness. These recollections, not originating from her own experiences but belonging to the body she now possessed, felt like a relentless assault, forcing her to relive moments she had no business experiencing.

The beautiful woman—whom Waru assumed to be her new mother—unleashed a torrent of words that cascaded over her like a waterfall of gibberish, a linguistic whirlwind that left her more lost than Roronoa Zoro trying to read a map upside down.

Her lips moved in a mysterious dance, spouting a language she was sure was Japanese.

However, without subtitles, Waru couldn't understand jackshit.

Frustration simmered within her like a pot of chop suey left forgotten on the stove, threatening to boil over at any moment. As Hoshino's speech gained momentum, it was all Waru could do to keep up – much like trying to catch her elusive, past-life parents on a last-minute milk run.

Spoiler alert: they never came back.

"This bitch is crazy!" Waru watched in horror as her new mother, driven by something beyond comprehension, crudely tattooed her new body's forehead with a broken teacup shard.

Waru Tanuvasa instinctively touched her forehead, wincing at the pain. An idea struck her mind, "Wing gadium leveosa!" However, the spell failed for two reasons: first, she was in the wrong universe; she wasn't in Harry Potter. Second, she couldn't articulate her words properly. In baby speech, she ended up saying, "Woo gaa gaa goo, goo goo go sa!"

Her sympathy morphed into cold determination as she watched, a bystander to the endless torture inflicted upon the original Waru. She tried to help but was useless as it was a memory.

"You won't get away with this, Hoe-she-know." [A/N Waru Tanuvasa couldn't pronounce her new mother's name 'Hoshino' properly]. Waru didn't care that she sounded like a b-grade hero in a budget movie. That woman, regardless of being her new mother, was a psychopath.

Her eyes turned to cold steel, witnessing the tragic end as the original Waru succumbed to the impact of being thrown off the mountain by that heartless mother.

A selfish part told her this is none of her buisness and she should focus on trying to get home. But the face of her uncle and cousins looking disappointed at her, extinguished those intrusive thoughts.

As she finished watching the tableau of memories, the original infant's soul smiled gently at Waru before disappearing entirely, relinquishing ownership to her fully.

When she confirmed the soul had fully disappeared, Waru's robust facade and unwavering resolve crumbled, and she burst into tears. The emotional toll weighed heavily on her, far surpassing what the original baby could comprehend as it adapted to the relentless torture. The original Waru, trusting her new mother, never shed a tear even in the face of repeated attempts on her life—seven failed, the eighth tragically successful. Despite the torment, the original Waru maintained a deep love for her mother.

Waru Tanuvasa, thrust into this complex web of emotions, found herself unable to reconcile the love that persisted despite the cruelty. She couldn't fathom the strength the original Waru possessed to endure such suffering without losing faith in the maternal bond. It overwhelmed her, and she cried for what seemed like an eternity. The weight of grief, betrayal, and the innate longing for a mother's love collided in a storm of raw emotions, leaving Waru Tanuvasa to navigate a sea of tears and heartache.

Amidst the tears, a seed of rage took root within Waru Tanuvasa. "Fuck that bitch, I can't forgive her," she whispered through sobs.

"The original Waru forgave her, but I can't. My goal in this new life will be to seek retribution, to ensure that Hoe-she-know faces the consequences for the unspeakable acts committed against the original Waru, and now, against me."
