From the look on their faces he could tell they already heard the news. He didn't know how they learnt, be it from spies they planted next to Anjie, or thanks to news spreading from the kingdom. He didn't care about how they learnt about that and simply gave them a meaningful look.
They were all worried, deeply concerned about Anjie. Seeing how they had such dark faces, burdened by sadness and worry, made him feel warmth from this.
It was as if a family member suffered from a grave incident, and other family members just came to support. William couldn't tell if they came here to support Anjie or to inform him about what happened and ask for his help. But in either case, he felt touched by the feelings they showed.
"Can… Can you help us?" After a long time of crying, followed by a longer time of silent shaking in his arms, Anjie finally raised her head and looked at him with swallowed eyes.
