After completing the different tests, I was finally accepted into the academy.
It didn't feel as satisfying as I had imagined. I knew that I had received some preferential treatment because of my family background.
At first, that thought annoyed me.
But now I was slowly accepting reality.
This world was not Earth.
People were not equal here, and noble status carried real advantages.
Complaining about it would change nothing.
---
(Two days later…)
During those two days, I discovered something interesting about myself.
I seemed to possess more brain capacity than most people.
During the testing phase, there had been an additional test available. It wasn't required for admission, but I decided to take it anyway.
The test involved wearing a strange helmet-like device that measured how much information the brain could process and handle.
To my surprise, I achieved exceptional results.
I didn't know the exact reason for it, but I had a guess.
Perhaps it was because my soul came from another world and now existed inside a different body. Maybe that had somehow strengthened my mental capacity.
Whatever the reason was, I wasn't complaining.
At least I had performed well in something.
The instructor who conducted the test told me that such mental capability would be extremely helpful when learning and understanding complex techniques.
In other words, it could give me a significant advantage during training.
---
Later, another instructor approached me to explain the academy's procedures and the different classes I would be attending.
"Hello, Aron," the instructor said politely. "My name is Hella. I will be giving you a tour of the academy and explaining how everything works here."
I nodded respectfully.
"Professor, please take care of me."
Then I asked something that had been on my mind.
"Professor, I would like to know how many classes are available in different fields and how the training schedule works. Since I joined the academy late, I'm not sure how I should arrange my classes."
"I want to attend both magic classes and knight training classes. How should I organize my schedule?"
Professor Hella smiled slightly.
"You are quite curious for your age," she said.
"Don't worry. I will explain everything you need to know."
"In your first year, you will have five training classes. You are free to choose whichever training paths you want."
However, her expression became a little more serious.
"I would recommend that you focus on one field only, either magic or knighthood. If you try to pursue both paths at the same time, your progress will slow down, and you may not become particularly good at either."
I nodded politely.
"Thank you for the advice, Professor. But I would still like to pursue both fields. I believe it will benefit my future growth."
After hearing my answer, the professor looked at me as if I were being somewhat foolish.
She probably thought I was just another pampered noble child who refused to listen to good advice.
But I didn't care much about what others thought of my decisions.
Still, I wanted to make a good impression on my first day, so I didn't argue further.
Instead, I decided to ask about the most important thing for me right now.
"Professor, could you tell me about the meditation techniques available for first-year students?"
"If I want to grow stronger, I know that I will need to improve my core quality and increase its potency."
The professor looked at me with mild surprise.
"You didn't receive meditation training from your family?"
"And you haven't started practicing meditation yet?"
For a moment, I was confused.
Then I remembered something from the original owner's memories.
Children in noble families were usually introduced to basic meditation techniques from a young age, mainly to help their bodies adapt to future cultivation training.
However, the original Aron had been very weak and unhealthy during childhood, so his parents had decided not to force him into early training.
Because of that, he had never taken meditation seriously.
I explained calmly.
"My body was quite weak when I was younger, so my family decided not to start meditation training at that time. Later on, I also wasn't very interested in pursuing either knighthood or magic."
"But after some time, my thoughts changed. That's why I decided to join the academy."
The professor nodded in understanding.
"Even if you had practiced meditation from a young age, it wouldn't affect your affinity or core quality."
"Early meditation is mostly meant to strengthen the body so it can handle serious cultivation in the future."
"So you don't have any real disadvantage compared to the others."
She then continued explaining.
"The meditation techniques you will learn in the academy are different from basic family techniques anyway."
"The academy will provide suitable meditation techniques and combat techniques according to your affinity and specialization."
"So you don't need to worry about that."
---
After finishing the explanation, Professor Hella pointed toward another building.
"Now that I have answered your questions, you should go to the main office and register for your classes."
"There you will find a list of all the available training courses."
"You are a first-year student who joined late, so you will have to work hard to catch up."
"Good luck."
I nodded respectfully.
"Thank you, Professor."
Not many students had the chance to speak with a professor on their very first day.
I knew very well that this opportunity existed only because of my family background.
Still, I had received all the information I needed.
Now it was time to choose my classes.
After that, I would begin practicing the martial techniques of my family.
As I thought about increasing my strength, a small smirk appeared on my face.
This was going to be interesting.
"Hehe…"
