Ace then to the group and revealed that there was one more piece of information he hadn't divulged previously, and it was that when he was receiving the blessing from Heaven, he had also been lucky enough to speak to the Spirits of the Overgods of Fire and Light.
They had both come to him offering him the same deal as the one that Aiden had been offered, allowing him to become the new Overgod of Wind, but he refused them as he wanted to walk his own path, but he told them that even though he wouldn't become one, he knew loads of people qualified.
According to Ace, the two Overgods wouldn't offer the deal to anyone who wasn't worthy; as such, they told him to pass on the details of a challenge. The first expert of the Laws of Light and Fire, to not only become a paragon of said Law but also the matching concept, would become the next Overgod of that element.
Hearing that, everyone's eyes widened, and Augusta couldn't help but hurriedly ask if that was true for him two.
Ace shrugged, and it's for everyone, but there's one prerequisite. You can't be a Sovereign as well.
Hearing that, Augusta frowned and asked how it could be for everyone. After merging with Sovereign Spark, there was no way to unmerge with it without killing yourself.
At that, Aiden said if any of the Sovereigns were serious about taking part in the Overgod's challenge, he could help them unmerge without it killing them, but their Sovereign Spark would, from that moment on, belong to him.
Hearing that, Augusta frowned as he seriously contemplated his options. It had to be understood that although Augusta was a Chief Sovereign who was ranked fourth after Phueus, Orloff, and Wodred in terms of power, as far as actual talent was concerned, he could only be described as overwhelmingly ordinary.
After billions of years as a Chief Sovereign, he still hadn't become a paragon. It was because of that that he was so reluctant to take the opportunity.
But suddenly, his eyes lit up, and he turned to Aiden and asked if Orloff was allowed entry into the Yulan Plane.
A knowing smile appeared on Aiden's face as he indifferently waved his hand, teleporting the unexpecting Chief Sovereign of Fate into the Yulan Plane, simultaneously granting him immunity from the force of the world that would've otherwise killed him as a Sovereign in a material plane.
Although not expecting it, Orloff didn't so much as bat an eyelid as he was summoned by the Overgod.
Aiden nodded and said as Bula, they really did stand a chance at winning the challenge, even with his wife's headstart.
No one understood what Aiden meant, but the next moment, the bodies of Orloff and Augusta merged, effectively becoming one body.
Aside from Aiden, who had clearly already noticed the truth, everyone else was stunned.
Seeing their confusion, Aiden explained that the Bula Race were a very unique human-like race, even more rare than Apex Divine Beasts. They were so rare that whilst there were a few hundred Apex Divine Beasts spread out in the universe, there were no more than a couple dozen Bulas.
What made them both so strange and yet so impressive was that, from the start of their lives, they were able to divide their minds in two, with the two new parts of themselves having different personalities.
That in and of itself was strange enough, but what made them truly impressive was their ability to choose the aspects of their personality they wanted each mind to have. For example, A man loves to study formations and train in the profound mysteries of darkness, so he puts the part that loves to study formations in one of his personas and training in profound mysteries of darkness in his other persona.
Or, in the case of Augusta and Orloff, one persona who's very ambitious, indulges in all possible pleasures and also cares a lot for intangible might like carrying the title of having the strongest Clan in all the Planes. And another persona who's exceedingly calm and has no other desires aside from becoming stronger, someone unwilling to indulge himself in any pleasure aside from training and developing new techniques.
Aside from that, there's also another unique aspect to the Bula Race, and that's in the way they reproduce. For a Bula, their only way of reproducing is to use their life force to spit an egg out with new life, causing their previous incarnation to die. They can also choose their gender at will.
Hearing that, whether it was the deities or even the other Sovereigns, there wasn't a single person not shocked by this new revelation, especially because they understood the other implications.
When Augusta said previously that he wouldn't have stood a chance against Phueus, that wasn't exactly true. He wouldn't have stood a chance against the Chief Sovereign of Darkness if he was forced to hold back, but the moment he was willing to go all out and merge back with Augusta, there wasn't another Sovereign that would've been their match.
Even if he were to fight Wodred and Phueus at the same time, the results would've been the same. After all, not only were both persona's Chief Sovereigns, but they both also had Overgod Artifacts, and to top it off, there was also the additional portions of Will from Orloff not only becoming a paragon but also him leading the Celestial Realm to win ten consecutive Planar Wars.
Orloff and Augusta really hid themselves too deeply!
After their fusion, "Orlusta" ignored the shock of those around them to turn to Aiden and asked him to strip them of their Light-type Sovereign Spark.
Seeing their determination, Aiden appeared before them in the blink of an eye and stripped them of one of their Sovereign Sparks, causing them to scream out in pain. It had to be remembered that their Sovereign Spark had literally fused with every fibre of their being; it was heaven-defying enough that he was able to remove it at all without killing; to expect there to be no consequences at all would be nothing short of ignorant foolishness.
After it was done, despite the drop in power, Orlusta beamed with excitement before they once more split in two, once again separating into Orloff and Augusta, but this time, Orloff was the High God-level Divine Light Clone, whilst Augusta became the all-powerful paragon-level Chief Sovereign of Fate.
Both incarnations grinned excitedly, Augusta because he finally held power to look down on almost all Sovereigns in his fingers, and Orloff because, after all his years of existence, he was finally embarking on the path to surpass the level of a Sovereign.
Orloff turned to Aiden, bowed respectfully, and asked if he could now be given the method to train in the path of concepts.
In response, Aiden smiled as he waved a hand, causing several drops of spiritual essence to fly into not only Orloff's soul but the souls of everyone present who hadn't begun training in said path. After all, they were now effectively all on the same side, and everyone had, in one way or another, demonstrated their loyalty.
After receiving that, everyone thanked Aiden excitedly. Each of them had either run into seemingly unpassable bottlenecks or reached the limits of strength for their level. The chance at new breakthroughs was more than enough to excite them.
Finally, it was Bluefire who stepped forward. He didn't even need to say anything for Aiden to know what he wanted.
There were only two Overgod Sparks up for grabs, one of light and one of fire. As a Lesser Sovereign of Fire, how could he not be interested in becoming the Overgod of Fire, especially after the incidents that had happened recently?
He may still be more powerful than his grandson for now, but the amount of assistance he could provide for him was limited at best. A fact he felt more clearly than ever when he was almost killed by the causal attack of Phueus.
Now, more so than ever, he wanted to become stronger, not for him, but for Ace.
The good news, though, was that not only was he already a paragon of the Laws of Fire, but his comprehension of the Concept of Fire had reached the commander level.
Although he wasn't quite on the level of Ace, Amira, or Killian, he was still a monstrous genius no less talented than the other monsters of their group; as such, he had every right to be confident in his chances of success, especially as there wasn't anyone else competing with him.
After Aiden stripped Bluefire of his Sovereign Spark, everyone was excited to begin training, regardless of whether they were competing for an Overgod Spark or not.
