Chapter 16 - Ch 16: Another Fire Origin Beast

Aiden saw that Lucas was using his sharp dagger to cut open a layer of the Fire Origin Beast's flesh and throwing all of them to the side. After a while, a glowing object surfaced at the center of the Fire Origin Beast's chest. It was actually a scalding crystal.

Lucas reached out to this crystal and took it in his hand. Immediately, his hand burned to the point of crying out loud. Unable to control it, he quickly threw the crystal onto the ground.

"Chii!"

The surroundings of the crystal suddenly caught fire and turned a patch of grass into ashes. Lucas used a lot of force to stomp it out. After half an hour, the Fire Origin Beast's core finally lost some of its heat. Only then did Lucas take out a small metal box from the ring and put it away.

Following that, he turned his head to see Aiden still standing quietly on the spot. He pointed to the ground and said, "Collect all of the Fire Origin Beast's meat. If you use these as food, it will allow you to increase your strength by a lot."

Aiden nodded his head instantly and started to pack happily. Knowing that it will help him increase his strength, his eyes lit up and he became excited. He could not let these pieces of meat go waste. He quickly gathered all pieces of meat, including the corpse of the python that was especially large, weighing over a thousand kilograms.

Lucas then continued to skin the Fire Origin Beast until its bones were ripped off and collected all the resources that he could use.

"Boom! Boom!"

At that moment, the ground suddenly shook, startling the two of them.

Lucas's pupils suddenly contracted and instantly became extremely heavy. He immediately stopped all his movements, and the expression on his face became extremely serious.

Aiden also pricked up his ears and listened to the sounds coming from afar, but he did not need to listen carefully, the sounds were getting louder and closer!

Very soon, they saw a huge ball of fire rapidly flying over, burning everything along the way to a scorching point. Trees after trees were all set on fire, and the forest was set ablaze.

That ball of fire carried an incomparably huge force of impact as it rushed over. Before it even touched, a wave of heat wave spread out, causing the two's bodies to instantly feel somewhat hot.

Danger was coming!

Lucas was the first to react and shouted, "Run! Don't worry about anything else now. Just flee!"

Aiden also understood the situation. The two of them immediately turned and fled in opposite directions.

"Boom!"

The ball of fire seemed to have chosen its target. It suddenly changed direction and collided with Lucas in an instant, crashing into him with brutal force. Despite his attempt to dodge, it seemed as though he hadn't moved quickly enough. The next moment, he was engulfed in flames, and the impact sent him flying like a rocket!

"Clang!"

Lucas crashed to the ground, blood spurting from his mouth as he was hit with a heavy thud. Aiden, who had been running nearby, saw the entire scene unfold and was stunned.

Without the trap Lucas used to kill the Fire Origin Beast, facing such a powerful and dangerous Star Beast head-on was nearly impossible. This was no ordinary beast. It was also a Fire Origin Beast.

Lucas was clearly outmatched. As for Aiden, his strength doesn't allow him to participate in a fight at their level.

Unlike the previous Level 1 First-tier Star Beast, this Fire Origin Beast has reached First-tier Level 9!

A normal Star Beast's body was already strong to begin with. Facing a human Star Warrior, they could fight those above their cultivation level. And this Fire Origin Beast was probably strong enough to compete with a newly advanced Blue Spirit Star Warrior!

He had already learned from Lucas that after the First-tier Star Warrior, the next stage of Star Cultivation was Blue Spirit Star Warrior, followed by White Dust Star Warrior.

Aiden was taken aback when he discovered these stages. The gap in strength between each tier was far greater than he had imagined. Though he wasn't sure just how powerful Planet Earth was in comparison, he knew without a doubt that Planet Ecaz was far stronger than Earth. This realization left him in awe of the vastness and complexity of the universe he had stepped into.

...

Without any reason, without any warning, the Fire Origin Beast rushed over, causing Lucas to be knocked down. He was injured heavily.

Aiden was no match for either of them. However, he simply could not run away, leaving Lucas behind in this perilous situation.

He was once abandoned by his father. He knows very well how it feels to be abandoned.

Though he had only met Lucas two days ago, they had shared food, drink, and moments as they crafted traps together. Despite the short time, a bond had formed between them. Truth be told, although they fought and he was injured by Lucas, time spent with Lucas were actually joyful moments for Aiden. He had already started seeing Lucas as his friend. He couldn't abandon a companion, especially not when they were facing this deadly challenge together.

Aiden's heart pounded in his chest, and with a deep breath, he steeled himself.

"I won't run," he muttered under his breath.

Aiden clenched his fist, and a different kind of determination appeared in his eyes. Deciding on the spot, he no longer ran but dashed forward.

When Aiden looked at Lucas, he saw that even after being knocked to the ground, Lucas remained calm, showing no signs of panic. Instead, a trace of light flashed in his eyes.

Lucas then took out three items. One was a black iron shield, one was a sharp sword, and the last one was a few round objects. These were Explosive Balls!

The Fire Origin Beast rushed towards him recklessly. Lucas smiled evilly and casually threw out Explosive Balls, accurately smashing into the Fire Origin Beast's body which was covered in thick and rough skin.

The moment the Explosive Balls came into contact with the Origin Beast's skin, they instantly detonated.

"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"

"BOOM!"

A series of explosions resounded. The entire area was instantly covered in flames and huge waves, turning into a crimson space!

"Roarrrr~~"

This Fire Spirit Beast was submerged within the monstrous flames. Its roar was deafening, enough to tear one's internal organs apart!

During this period, Lucas also carved some kind of runes on the shield in a hurry, causing it to grow dozens of times larger. Then he stabbed the shield into the ground, forming a thick iron wall in front of him. And then he held the sharp sword in his hand, ready to fight the Star Beast.

As the explosive balls' energy became weaker and weaker, the Fire Origin Beast jumped out from within. It seemed to have only suffered a slight superficial wound, and this was not a surprise since this beast was said to be born from fire itself. It can also swallow any fire-attributed object and grow stronger.

Fortunately, it seemed to have still suffered superficial wounds. This was enough to infuriate the already furious beast.

"Roar!"

Roaring, it once again charged toward Lucas crazily, but this time, a huge iron wall was already erected in front of Lucas!

"Bam!"

Aiden was already rushing over from the back. He glanced at the Fire Origin Beast and quickly pulled up the remaining wooden thorns on the ground. He held three in each hand, tightened his wrist, and moved his feet across the ground as fast as lightning.

"Yaa!"

Aiden bellowed, and in the next moment, his figure had already leaped up in the air. Soaring above the head of the Fire Origin Beast, he fiercely bent his waist, extended both of his arms and erupted forth with his full strength. And finally, he shot down explosively!

"Whoosh!"

On both of his hands, there were six wooden spikes with runes carved on them. They all shone with a red light, emitting killing intent. With great momentum, he used all his energy and pierced towards the head of the Fire Origin Beast!

"Crack!"

A crisp sound rang out. It was unknown if it was because he had used too much strength or if the Fire Origin Beast was too strong, the wooden thorn broke instantly.

It has to be known that Fire Origin Beast was a very strong First-tier Star Beast while Aiden was only a Level 2 Third-Tier Star Warrior. He was far weaker than the Fire Origin Beast, so it was normal for him to be unable to cause even the tiniest bit of harm to the Fire Origin Beast.

However, even so, because of the runes, broken tips of wooden thorns still pierced into the Fire Origin Beast's flesh.

At this moment, the Fire Origin Beast, whose head and shoulders had six wooden spikes stuck in them, spasmed violently.
