My first thought was, 'What is she doing here?' My second was, 'Whys is she here?' And my last was, 'Who is she/'
I was very confused, and the constant explosions didn't help. I even thought I was hallucinating, but that assumption was swiftly proven wrong when my mother touched my face.
"Recruit! Get up!"
As dazed and injured as I was, I still got a little annoyed at her yelling. Couldn't she see how badly wounded I was?
I opened my mouth, but no words came out. My body had finally gotten the rest it had been craving for so long and shut down completely. I would not be moving for a long time.
Since I couldn't speak, I just observed her. Her face was exactly the way I remembered it, and somehow looked even younger.
When she looked at me, there was no light of recognition in her eyes. It was as if I was someone she had never seen before.
From out of nowhere, there came massive, pulsating hate in my body. It felt like it was consuming my entire being.
