James was just about to leave, but discovered his daughter tugging at his collar with her small hand. "Daddy, can I ask you for something?"
"What is it? Go ahead, as long as my little star wants it, I'll say yes!"
"Can you give me two coins? If that's too much, one is fine."
James looked utterly surprised. Why was his daughter suddenly asking for money? As his child, she never lacked anything.
"I want to use the coins to buy snacks at the school gate. Those things smell so good."
"Sweetheart, those foods are dirty—you might get a stomach ache." James had a troubled expression on his face.
The little girl immediately pleaded pitifully, "But why can Emma and the others eat them? They didn't get sick."
Seeing his daughter's expression, James felt his heart melt. "Alright, alright, after this you'll ride with me, and whatever you want to eat, I'll buy it for you."
