As soon as Charles finished speaking, he instantly felt the scene around him change at lightning speed, and when he came back to his senses, he found his surroundings exceedingly bright, making it hard to adjust after coming from the darkness.
Bright?! Charles nearly instinctively jerked his head up—an eye-piercing sun dazzlingly hung overhead in the sky. This was the Earth's surface! The real surface!!
As Charles, extremely excited, tried to steady his emotions, he realized that he had entered a bird's body—more specifically, a white-feathered seagull. Right now, he was standing atop the mast of a sailing boat.
Beside the seawater was a vast beach, bodies—either black or white and dressed in swimsuits—lay sprawled out sunbathing. Seeing those people so different from himself, it was obvious this was not China.
Charles clumsily flapped his large wings; his instincts still lingered, and soon he was soaring into the air, heading toward the land.
