The Vampire seemed particularly restrained, sitting very upright, and neither of them spoke, as if waiting for someone.
Minutes later, a huge bat, a meter wide, flew in through the adjacent window. With a folding of its wings, it transformed into Audric. "Captain, you called for me?"
"Someone from Dark Crystal Island has arrived, go see what they're after," Charles tapped the table with his steel finger.
Audric paused and sniffed the air, then looked toward the side with his sunglasses-wearing eyes. "Who granted you your Initial Embrace?"
Sifler glanced at him but did not wish to converse. He reached into his chest and pulled out a blood-red Crystal Ball.
"Captain, you needn't doubt me. This time, the Lady has decided to speak with you personally; I am merely a messenger," he said.
