The guard slowly made his way to the best assassin. He knew that the news of their defeat was one that truly needed acknowledgement.
He knocked four times paused and knocked twice more. The door opened up. Malam Bei was in a chair that could have been mistaken for a throne in the room.
The guard who brought the man in on her right standing like a statue. The best assassin was sitting down in a chair that honestly looked like it was one twist away from being dust.
"Headmaster Bei, Sir Assassin, and you there. I have come with terrible news." The guard spoke.
The guard behind Malam Bei was furious but knew his position in the Sect. Malam Bei was already upset and this seemed to tick her off even more. The best assassin knew better than anyone what kind of news was being brought to him.
"The six assassins whom we sent out. I believe met their end in the hands of demons."
This turned into a sour topic for Malam Bei. She knew that the demons had been under a new king for some time now and should have all been under control.
"In the very good floral patch, I believe that a demon portal opened and the assassins either had to fight or were forced near them exposing themselves. Since we all know that Demonic Qi can poison the air. We lost three like that, one is in the Demon Realm, and the other two are nowhere to be located." The guard spoke.
This seemed to make Malam Bei know that consequences never come in full force. She learned that the hard way. Through all of her years, even the tiny poisoned fence did not seem to have a lot of consequences to her actions.
Fearing that now of all times, she would be forced to either die or fight and die. She sighed in defeat.
"Why would the demons take one prisoner hostage?" Malam Bei asked.
"Headmaster Bei, I believe that it was because they needed either a torture prisoner, an experimental person, or they are trying to get all the information out of him." The guard replied.
"Did he have access to high level information?" Malam Bei replied in a hurried tone.
"He did have access to some knowledge. As far as who went where and for the Quests being handed out. He did not have that immediate access. He could after a month passed giving him the middle ranked knowledge." The guard replied.
Even some of this knowledge could have been high ranked knowledge. This caused her to frown.
"What I wish to say now is just what I wish to. Please do not be mad at me." The guard spoke after a minute, "I believe that in this situation, it is best that you go hide amd make sure not to come out." The guard spoke.
The guard behind Malam Bei scoffed at the other guard immediately, "It is you who has no idea what has gone on! Yet, you dare to even try and tell her what to do! Have him killed and his body burned for that wretchedness."
Malam Bei took the words seriously.
"He is right. I should go and hide. It is you that is truly blind right now. So, you will take yourself to the fire and let yourself burn to a crisp. If I here even a cry of mercy, I WILL MAKE SURE THAT YOUR FAMILY DOES NOT GET ANY QI STONES BUT INSTEAD PAYS ME BACK FOR YOUR INSOLENCE!" Malam Bei shouted with untold fury.
The guard knowing that his life was over walked out of the room. He closed the door. He had two ways to hide his family. He sent a message to them warning them of the future.
The message arrived early enough for his family to go into hiding. The assassins who were sent there to kill his family could not.
Once he started to burn, Malam Bei came rushing in. She was upset that he dared to do something so stupid.
"I knew you were stupid when you spoke to another guard like you did. To send your family into hiding while telling me it was not fair. I dare you to reincarnate with me.
I shall watch as I rip your family, your bones, and whatever pet you have apart." She told the burning guard.
Tears swelled up in his eyes. He was thankful that his family had been saved. Hearing that he smiled and said, "Rot with the demons you vile woman."
The tone he was one that would haunt her until she died. This became her living nightmare until Rex would find her.
