Abaddon opened the door to his bedroom.
The way Ayaana had designed the space paid homage to their old bedroom while giving it a more modern, brighter feel.
The northmost facing wall was a glass window that gave Abaddon and the girls a perfect view out into the shining city.
It was usually quite bright in here during the day. But even though night had already fallen, it was now quite dark and depressing.
Abaddon's eyes moved to his bed.
It was an enormous, circular mattress surrounded by thin silk curtains that hung from the ceiling.
Abaddon could vaguely make out a familiar silhouette behind the fabric. He saw her look towards him.
"You've been in bed ever since earlier… Nyx agreed to watch the kids so we can go out."
Abaddon poked his head inside the curtains. Zahara stared back at him from a coiled position.
