The dragon opened his eyes with a start.
He sat up warily and instantly knew that they were not in Kansas anymore.
At first, he thought himself disoriented. But no, his eyes were working properly enough. It was what he was seeing that didn't make any sense.
He beheld a realm incomprehensible to the human mind. The ground might've been the sky, the sky might've been the ground.
There were stars to decipher at least, but they were completely different from any other star he had ever seen before.
And Abaddon considered himself to be quite the expert on the subject.
The sky was filled with the faraway screeching of rabid creatures.
Abaddon's senses were shot at the moment, but he could feel the creatures approaching. He could feel their excitement too.
He finally realized that he was at the mercy of the elements. A little too much so.
His naked body was exposed to both the freezing cold and the burning hot air.
