Today, it was rare that Wei Ziang had some free time. Neither of them brought Little Grass along; for the past few months, Wei Ziang had been attending school, and Little Grass accompanied Xiao Mi up the mountain every day.
After winter set in, there were fewer wild rabbits and pheasants on the mountain, and even the occasional snakes were hibernating, making hunting not as easy as in the summer.
The two of them decided to go deeper into the mountains to see what was happening there.
Usually, they only stayed in the nearby mountains, catching small creatures was enough. However, after winter set in, even these small prey became scarce. Without going deeper, they feared there would be little to show for their efforts.
While passing by the mountaintop pond, Xiao Mi asked Wei Ziang to wait and then scattered a few handfuls of lotus seeds by the pond.
"Why did you bring these along?"
"Well, I saw this empty pond and thought it would be a waste not to plant something."
